A really cool universe
I liked the scenes. A fantastic story and characters. My only negative is some of the high level vocabulary. I love new words but some I had to go look up. So I don’t think this is a easy read but it was an adventure!

Unexpectedly Sensual Yet a Captivating Fantasy Read
I bought this book because I was looking for somewhat of a fantasy book, and I certainly was not expecting this, Wow! When reading Isis: Book One of Marvis Magic University, I was immersed in a world where mystical powers intertwine with an enticing narrative of, might I say, unapologetic sensuality. The author, Aeron Icarus, does a great job of storytelling. This book will definitely draw you in.

Typical students in a magic university story - but with some interesting elements
I feel like there are too many books out there that focus on the old "special students in a magical university" story. But at least this one has a compelling story and some interesting characters. The book's repetitive elements, despite being well-written, disrupt the flow and make scenes distracting. There is a fair amount of eroticism. For instance, the good-guys' infiltration of enemies ends with an erotic scene on the dance floor.

A bit mixed
This was an interesting read...But there were a few aspects that didn’t quite work for me. On one hand, the author does a good job at depicting the eroticism between the characters. There is plenty of thought that was put into it. However, after a while, these elements become somewhat repetitive and even though they are well written (and often inventive), I kept wondering about their relevance to the story. This disrupted the flow to a point where I found these scenes distracting. As an example, the good-guys’ infiltration of the enemies early in the book, ended with an erotic scene on the dance floor. Although the scene is nice to read, I kept wondering whether they weren’t supposed to be doing something else there. This also affected the tone somewhat. It seemed that at/after crucial - or even sad - moments, whenever key characters share a scene, there was always some erotic exchange going to happen.Since the antagonist and the stakes were not very clear, I think a bit less erotica and more focus on the key elements of the plot would have worked better. In terms of personal and sexual identity and story POV, I think Isis is the key character, but she is pretty clear from the get-go on what she likes and that she identifies as non-binary. Blair is fine with it, as is Leo. This meant that there was not much exploration or discovery necessary from her side. She had completed her arc already. The prose is very flowery but too distant. There is too much telling and not showing and this might happen because we are often being told the reactions or emotions from several characters within a scene. This distance also meant that I could not feel what the POV-character of the scene was feeling, and this affected my investment. The use of pronouns (they/them) for non-binary characters within a scene, especially with multiple characters, was a bit confusing at first, but worked after a while.Overall, despite the well-written prose, the plot, stakes and antagonists are not strongly defined. Despite the nicely written erotica scenes, this made for a somewhat muddled experience.
