If you have a problem with histamine containing foods, this is definitely worth a try!
Along with many other IBS symptoms, for more than a year I developed some kind of sensitivity to histamine containing foods. I suspect it was a result of a very unbalanced gut flora as it started after antibiotic therapy.I was having bad reactions to cheese, beer, wine, chocolate, etc. Which as you can imagine really sucked in terms of not only having to avoid delicious foods, but also being able to have something resembling a social life.Once I figured out that most foods I was having problems with were histamine containing or histamine releasing foods I decided to give Histame a try.The pills are medium size, they are not too hard to swallow but not small either. You take one or two pills around 20 minutes before eating (or drinking) the offending foods or drinks and then you go ahead. In my experience Histame worked most of the times to prevent me from having a reaction to these foods, so it definitely works! There were a few times when I still had a reaction so it's not something with a 100% effectiveness, but I would say 80-90% of the time it would work.So if you have an issue with histamine containing foods, give this a try, it will likely work and it doesn't have any side effect whatsoever.

Awesome product
I have a long story to tell but I'll make it short I had hives that I thought were caused by shrimp but now are uncertain. I had hives about 15 years ago and it was from stress from a divorce. I had them for year and a half and the only thing that really made them go away was cardiovascular exercise I started running and within a few weeks they were completely gone. So they reappeared recently probably due to stress not the shrimp. I am a dermatology nurse so I went to my office where they gave me all kinds of antihistamines that make you drowsy and steroid shots. I realize I couldn't keep getting steroid shots as they are not good for you and the antihistamines were just making my life miserable. So I decided to research what is it in your body that keeps you from breaking out with hives. What is your natural histamine. And I came up with DAO which is in this product. My research said that your natural DAO needs magnesium to work. So I purchased this product and I take one at night along with magnesium and vitamin C. I take them at night because my hives start while I'm sleeping around 3 o'clock in the morning. Little by little this product cured my hives. I also started running again. Currently I may have one or two hives in the morning and I am completely off this product. I highly recommend this product. No side effects and capsule is easy to swallow. Sorry this was not short as I said it would be. Hope it is helpful.

Worked for me but not anymore. Changed formula!
About a year ago I started having issues with eczema on my neck and around one eye. I tried products to clear it up, and some worked, but it would always come back when I stopped taking the product. Last Easter I was at a buffet where I ate anything I wanted to--smoked salmon, bacon, macaroni and cheese, salad with dressing, wine, etc. About 3 hours later, my heart rhythms went nuts, racing, stopping, pounding. It was scarey! I vowed to go to the doctor the next day, but checked on line for what might have caused this problem. (I had had arrhythmias before but just chalked them up to menopause, and they had never been this bad) Somehow I tripped on an article by the Journal of American Nutrition about histamine intolerance. In that article I found a number of issues I had been struggling with all related to the same thing, histamine intolerance--arrhythmias, eczema, itchy skin, acid reflux, intestinal cramps, diarrhea . . . etc. I was distraught that the solution was to leave out just about all of my favorite healthy foods!! Then I somehow happened upon Histame.Long and short--my heart no longer does that weird thing (unless I eat more than one capsule can handle), my eczema is gone (unless I get careless and don't take Histame), my tummy/intestinal problems are gone, no more itches. I am so happy!!! Sometimes it bothers me to know I will have to always take this with just about every meal, but then I wonder what life would be like for me if suddenly there was no Histame!Update 09/18/2017 Histame no longer contains DAO enzyme, so I can no longer stand behind my review. While the company talks about healing the gut and fixing the problem, there are people who simply, genetically don't produce enough DAO. For those people there is Umbrellux, which is now the only product available on the market in the US to contain DAO. They hold the patent on this produce and have stopped providing it to other providers like Histame.

Contains Hidden Corn, Not on Label
I got this product on the advice of a nutritionist. I have multiple food allergies and sensitivities and she felt it would bring down my overall reactivity so that I could tolerate more foods. It did not.She then advised me to increase to two capsules per meal and maybe more. Since consuming this quantity gets expensive, I looked at a competing DAO product and saw that it contained corn. The label of Histame did not say corn but I wanted to make sure because I am allergic to corn. I contacted the manufacturer using their web form but got no response. After a few days passed, I called them. It took a couple of calls to reach someone in customer service but she admitted that the product does contain unlabeled corn. They don't put it on the label because it is a "minute amount."Okay, it's a small amount in one capsule. But what about in 6 capsules, or 9 a day? Small amounts add up! What if it's in all my supplements and medications and they don't label it? I'm very unhappy about this because the product is designed for food intolerance so everything should be listed on the label! People with intolerances and allergies can react to very small amounts, and can become more sensitive over time. No wonder the product was not helping me!I'm allowing two stars because many people claim this product is helpful. However, the company is not labeling honestly and did not respond to my initial inquiry. I'm losing faith in the supplement industry.
