This book gave me some extra and special insight in the deaf community. Being involved with the deaf community myself, this is a must read. I enjoyed the different stories from deaf people and their families, confirming that each person is an individual and that they have to make their own choices to decide which communication method they prefer.

helps get into deaf world a bit

I was completing an assignment on hearing impairment and needed some data relating to the impact on the child and the family. These personal stories were very moving to me personally and in addition were perfect for my work, although I only used 3 out of the 9. A beautifully put together book documenting both the struggles and successes of hearing loss.
