Great project!

Wow, this is well made. Makes me want to scale any fish that I catch at an instant. This scaler is well made, and I can't see it rust like other name brands. The handle to the head is well blended and looks flawless. It's stainless with no plastic handles or parts which could accumulate fish slime or skin that may get in between the handle and the head. Perfect scaler if you constantly prep fish as a cook or you're just a fisherman on a boat. Get this and you won't be disappointed in the clean looks to it.

Having scaled fish for over 60 years using every scaler available across many states, I was surprised to discover that a heavy high quality stainless scaler even exists. After all there are not many people scaling bluegills like was common many decades ago. Panfish scales come off fairly easily, especially when one has a firm grip and can apply both leverage and finesse , which this scaler facilitates. Update: Using the scaler over the summer showed one benefit in particular; the design minimizes scales flying all over. Scaling panfish in the boat resulted in an easy cleanup.

This is Very Handy Stainless Steel Fish Scaler and Remover. This has to be the best tool that I have used for scaling fish second to none. A joy in the hand, the raised handle keeps your hand out of harm's' way while the angle of the teeth makes quick work of removing fish scales while not damaging the flesh. The tool is made of quality Stainless Steel with a durable brushed finish. The Scaler tool is substantial, not bulky, easily fitting into your tackle box or a kitchen drawer. The Fish Scaler is designed to last a lifetime and then some. Very Nice Indeed.

Disappointed. It is heavy, but ineffective for me in scaling. I do better with a serrated knife.

I'm comparing this to the brass scalers that are fairly common in Japan - this is inferior. Notice the defective casting on the tooth, top left. Also, the teeth are not sharpened to the extent the Japanese type scalers are. Nice looking tool otherwise, probably works just fine.

This fish scale was so easy to use and does exactly what it is supposed. I was able to take the scales off with no problem. It is very easy to hold and use and very lightweight. The scales don't go flying everywhere. My father, who is older and has problems with his hands, used it and loved it also. He said it was so easy for him to use. I love that it is super easy to clean, and no small parts for the scales to get caught in. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who buys fresh fish can cleans it themselves.

It really cleans fish well, i swipe and all the scales came off. It doesn’t make a huge mess either, keeps it contained. Very good stuff

Well made, very professional, and less than half the price of certain other fish descalers made of brass or aluminium. This one is also dishwasher proof, which can’t be said of the ones with wooden handles or made from cast aluminium.

Does what it's supposed to do. I mostly descale salmon and this does an amazing job with salmon. Doesn't bruise the meat or tear the skin, washes very easily, and small enough that you can get in behind the pectoral fins to descale that as well.
