Crafty Kids: Fun projects for you and your toddler

Really helpful book
I've bought a lot of toddler activity books and this is the one I've used frequently.I'm a full time mum of two looking for things to entertain my children when I'm at home with them all week (on a very small budget).I found these instructions easy to follow and prepare. My daughter & I have enjoyed making most of the things in this book and she has a priceless look of pride on her face when she shows daddy what she's made when he walks through the door. I've even prepared activities from this book when I've had children visit for play dates which have gone down with great success. Once you get the hang of what you can make with a little preperation time it's inspired me to prepare crafts for different animals and objects that are not in the book. Would highly recommend this book to boost creativity, confidence & learn animals etc. I've hung up everything we've made in my daughters bedroom to help her with her learning before she starts pre-school.

Excellent craft fun
This is such a deceptively simple book, one which we are very much enjoying. The beauty of this is each project is very easy, so simple you might wonder why you didn't think of it before. But we aint all supermum so i suggest you just pretend you did. My son is 3 and like others i have exhausted my repertoire and used craft sites and books which have lovely projects which i have tried with him, and ended up doing most of it myself as the project is too complicated or he didnt have the stamina for it. There are tips for older children which we are incorporating, i wouldnt say children older than 5 will go for the projects. Requires mostly paper, card, glue, the odd toilet roll and things like tin foil, you wont need fancy embellishments but you can easily use them if you have them. Great fun

Good ideas but requires a bit of preparation
I like this for giving ideas but a lot of the craft requires pre-cut shapes for toddlers. In principle I like it though and it has given me lots of ideas for crafting at home. For each page there is a section for older children to make the craft slightly more complicated, which I thought was good too.

Loads of fun and cheap too
This book arrived yesterday and it is just what I needed to entertain the 3 year old once a week and her 18 month old brother a little later on. Fair amount of granny prep required but I like cutting and sticking and playing messy craft. The ideas are v. simple but so is a small child's mind and they get fed up quickly. This is great cos if I prep something it can probably be over and done with before Evelyn gets bored or Xander needs a bum change! Well worth the money although just spent a fortune on paper plates, coloured paper and card all from the 99p shop so really not bad at all!

Great simple ideas
A great collection of simple but enjoyable craft ideas. I like it that the amount of craft material needed is minimal. My 2 and 4 year old children love choosing and then creating the chosen craft pieces.

Great book for 2+
Bought the book for ideas for making things with our 2 and a half year old granddaughter. It is absolutely brilliant, the ideas are good with instructions for cutting out (for the adults) and pictures to show how it should look (for the kids). They're easy for toddlers to make with just a bit of help. We have spent many happy hours making things and then putting lots of things together in a large picture. Our granddaughter loves the book and often insists on taking it home.

Bit samey, samey, more paper-platey.
Searching as I had for a while for a good craft book for under 5s, I chose this one - soley based on Amazon reviews. Under 5 crafts books being jolly hard to find and all...........It does have ideas that are quick to set up with more or less on-hand material....paint, glue,paperplate,.............. and oaktag. Um? What? What's OAKTAG? I used A4 white card, and had my tots paint it the colour required for the craft we were looking at.I must say I was disappopinted to see how repetitive the basic idea is, with really minimum sggestions for the 'older' crafter, ie touch more colour, spot of glitter.....I have nonetheless already filled 3 rainy, gloomy afternoons with craft from my book. It's maybe a book to have on classroom shelf, as a paper based craft support, but if you're a stay-at-home-mum like me and you're after a range of manual activities, this isn't it. It's purely paper ( now and again loo-roll/kitchen roll ) based, and too soon too repetitive.
