After a mysterious accident at a research camp on the Isle of Gran Manan, a CEO hires a team of blue-collar mercenaries to extract his daughter, a scientist working at the camp. Upon arrival, the team soon learns that not only is the island surrounded by a wormhole that causes time to reset every three days, but it's also crawling with hideous and dangerous monsters. As they learn more about the nature of time, space and the creatures on the island, they quickly realize that death may be the easiest way to escape.

a muddled but honest effort
This movie is what happens when there's a good sci-fi action horror premise that unfortunately gets written by someone(s) who really wants to write a drama. It's dialogue-heavy, and I mean for serious. It's also really by-the-numbers predictable when it comes to character intros and exposition, which is unfortunate because the cast is pretty good, especially Grant Schumacher, who manages turn meh writing into something interesting on-screen. Everyone else in the cast does yeoman's work against the writing, though with limited, varying success, alas. -- I'm guessing budgetary constraints held this movie back, but they still managed to land production design well, especially the makeups. They land hard, and for the kind of movie it is, that's a boon. Maybe they had limited time to shoot, too. That would explain a bit as well. -- I give it 3 stars, and that's including one extra because what the movie does seem to have is heart, and I mean that as in BTS. The premise is solid. The writing's what hurt it, and a fair bit of the direction didn't help it either. TBH, I'd not mind at all seeing this one remade with maybe 2x the budget and much of the same cast... and another few drafts in on the script by someone(s) else, where they do more showing than telling and ditch the extraneous talking and drama. -- 5/5. Dead average. (No pun intended.)

Absolute garbage.
Do not waste your time with this absolute piece of trash. It should be removed from the library and thrown into the dust bin of forgotten movies.

Pretty decent B-Grade Sci-Fi
At first I thought it a predictable copy of other things, but stayed with it and enjoyed the twists and turns. Cast did alright.

A Solid Indie Action Horror
Some great action and effects round out a sharp-looking and well-acted production about a group of mercenaries hired to rescue the daughter of a mysterious CEO whose research team has gone dark on an island off the coast of Nova Scotia.

A Bit of a Slow Pace
I like zombie films. I hadn't watched one in a while, so I rented this one. Though I think this film had some really good ideas, and science-fiction elements, I also think it passed at a pace that was slower than needed. The actors did an admirable job, the special effects were good. But the pace was slow enough that I noticed it. Not sure if this was do to the director, or if it was padding to fill the movie out to its current length. I very much like the circular element of the movie, and I think it had a lot of potential. There are illogical moments in the film, where you are saying, why are they not in danger right at this moment. I think it was the script in this case, where the writer may have said, well, I need to do this to tell the story, but that's not a good idea when the audience is noticing the scene as a glaring misstep. All in all, its a one-watch film.
