I had forgotten all the years I enjoyed anise candy. It was a case of out of sight, out of mind. The anise that was in all the stores were squares wrapped in red cellophane. the company must have gone out of business. Someone mentioned anise candy. I didn't know which brand but Sperlari was mentioned in an article as being one of the two best. I made a great choice. This is delicious anise. I am so happy to have found something I once enjoyed so much!

If you like the taste of licorice these are addictive although they are bit pricey, I believe if you could find these in a local store they'd be much cheaper. There is a down side for me after consuming more than one my voice becomes weaker and harsh, it's only temporary but people have asked me to speak louder.

This is not just a hard Candy, but an aide to digestion. Anise helps you digest your food if you have trouble with your diestive system. There are prescription medications and OTC products, but a few of these kept in a pocket or purse can relieve stomach pain. If worried about the few calories find someplace else to cut out a few to compensate. It's worth the relief from pain!

Individually wrapped hard candies were a whole lot more popular many years ago. Seemed like every house had a glass candy dish with a glass lid that told mom somebody was sneaking candy because it was impossible to lift off/put back without making a noise. My favorite hard candy was the square red anise drops wrapped in red cellophane and they were readily available in grocery stores, for cheap. There are some candy makers that still sell them but you pretty much have to buy them in bulk to justify the cost of shipping. One of these little 7oz bags is about all I need at a time. The anise flavor is very strong and there's no artificial coloring. Will definitely order more when this bag is gone.

Adoro l'anice, queste caramelle dure sono gradevoli da sciogliere in bocca e soprattutto facilitano la digestione,il bi pacco ha un prezzo molto vantaggioso, le consiglio a chi vuole tenere in casa anche su un vassoio delle caramelle pronte per gli ospiti, sono confezionate singolarmente,quindi anche molto comodo da portare in borsetta pronte per l'uso, decisamente consigliate.
