Linon Tavern Three Piece Counter Set, Espresso

I put this together in September, but I ordered it in July. I was dreading it, but it wasn't really justified. I had a pretty easy time putting this together, but I decided the instructions for the stools didn't make sense, I had a much easier time standing the stool on its end and lightly screwing in the legs while they lay on the floor, as opposed to the instructions which were to do the opposite. It's very small so I'm thinking about buying another one and laying them end to end. The price is more than reasonable and the quality is good. It doesn't look or feel cheap.Update:Oct 2013 and I now have my second set in the dining room, end to end, and it is perfect for me. All I have to do now is find a way to prevent them sliding on my wood floor. :) I was worried about the consistency of the product since I ordered my tables months apart, but they are identical to the inch and the color is identical as well.Another reviewer complained a while back about the table being made of fiber board/mdp, but my first and second one look just like solid wood, and feel like it too. The grain is natural, and I have even chipped one edge slightly on the tabletop, and there is not a "sawdust" or "cork" look to the damaged area, like I have seen on furnture made from mdp material.... I really love my tables.The height of them is perfect for doubling as a kitchen counter, since my apartment's kitchen has no counter space worth mentioning. I bake a lot, so it is a good height for rolling out dough and decorating things on. I have hit the wall with the corner and it didn't leave much of a mark either. I was worried about more of the stain rubbing onto the wall like other furniture I've had in the past, but there was a very small amount of brown left behind, and I hit the wall with considerable force (using the corner of the table, which dented the wall slightly.) My dining room has a closet door that slides out and folds, and I have accidentally hit the table a few times, scraping the paint off of the closet doorknob, but not damaging the table noticeably. A little paint from the door was left behind but I got it off easily with a fingernail.The ONE complaint I have is the difficulty of lining up all of the screws to attach the legs to the stool tops. On all four, there was one screw that would NOT go in without struggling with it for at least an hour. I literally was ready to cry with frustration at some point, haha. And I made sure only to lightly attach all of the screws to keep the legs balanced. It took me removing all of the screws over and over to get them to line up well enough to get the "trouble screw" in, which was really an issue with the stool top's hole not lining up perfectly with the pre-drilled holes on the legs. It seemed to be the same hole on each stool, also.

Loved the fact that the set looks so elegant. I also bought seat cushions for the stools.

I got this this table and stool set in this morning, and then got it put together this afternoon. The table is taller then I expected. It's roughly the same height as a kitchen counter top, which is not a problem. I can make use of a couple of additional bar stools that I have.I was worried when I opened the box which this came in and pulled the parts out. The box has a serious amount of styrofoam. But the hardware bag was already open. My 1st thought was that I was going to be short on hardware. But the only thing that I was short on was one lock-washer for the table, which I already had in my own toolkit.They send an allen wrench for the bolts in the hardware kit. But the cross-members for the chairs needs a straight or phillips screwdriver which you have to provide. A power screwdriver or a drill won't work. (I tried both.)After everything was assembled, I was sitting down and looking at one of the stools, wondering about how comfortable the stools were going to be. I then looked down and realized that I was already sitting on the other stool. I had to laugh. Question answered.This whole table and stool set is very solid, and of a better quality then I expected.

The table is as expected. Easy to assemble. It has a beautiful chocolate reddish blackish tint. There is one splinter of unfinished wood on one edge of the table which catches the cloth when I wipe the table down, and a few little touch ups on the edges that I see the factory made with a black pen or ink. I will probably need to use a little super glue to fasten the splinter. I wished they would have includes a tiny amount of touch up so I can file or sand the splinter and then touch it up. Also, one of the screw heads stripped out completely upon tightening during assembly. I'm not at all happy with that. They do not provide a way to back out a screw and replace it. And even if you could, they do not provide any extra screws so you are screwed..lol.. And, when you unpack it, you may want to do it outdoors and have a cloth ready to wipe each piece off, because the little with styrofoam pieces go all over and stick to everything and make a big mess.

must have missed the explanation of the chairs being wicker where you sit because it’s soooo uncomfortable i have to find pillows for the tops. great price but a pain in the ass to assemble very very cute tho

It was easy to assemble. Fits in my dining area which is pretty small. It looks really nice. The seats are a little itchy and hard. Otherwise, I love it.

This table is so rich looking! It only took me a little over an hour to put together! Our last son just moved out so I had no need for a dining room table in my small kitchen since it’s only my husband & I now....the stools are lovely and rattan topped....I couldn’t be more happy! AND THE PRICE!!!! No one believed me.....

I ordered this thinking it would be the standard 'cheap' furniture, but was pleasantly surprised! The table was very easy to put together and is pretty solid. Had trouble with one of the stools because the wicker was too thick to get the leg corner tight, but I did it. The second one fit perfectly. I'm a senior and was able to put this together by myself without much stress. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase!
