Our 2 yr old Canaries immediately went from eating 100% high quality seed mix (Volkman Canary Super Seed) to enjoying Lafeber Daily Diet Pellets plus seed. They love it! I started with 80% pellets and 20% seed and they are eating well, so I’ve kept it at this same proportion. I also feed them fresh boiled egg in the shell and fresh fruits and veggies daily. They are happy and healthy birds and we feel great about their excellent diet.

Shipping is what it is lately ... but gosh darn I needed this to arrive when it was expected on Aug 9th! Today's August 12th and a Friday ... and no bird food. Petco you get an F for reliability!But this product is amazing ... sometimes the canaries want a little something more than just seeds, herbs and fresh veggies/fruit. This is a pelleted feed, so sometimes this feels like a treat to them.

Didn’t believe our canaries would devour these but they loved the product. Impressed. Can’t vouch for the flavor and have no plans to taste it for the sake of this review.

When I bought my two budgies, the pet store owner suggested feeding them a mixture of seeds and LeFeber pellets. He recommended the product made for canaries. It's the same formula as the one made for budgies (parakeets), but the pellets are smaller and more easily digestible.This is a high quality brand, but my local store has only the small canisters. This larger size is a much better value and seems like it stays fresh. I can't evaluate the flavor nor the freshness, but my birds have not complained, so I'll keep buying this brand.

Keeps my birds full of energy!They were always fed a pure seed diet before I got them. After two weeks of mixing seeds and these pellets, they were able to stick to these! I still supplement them with fresh fruits and veggies daily as well, but I have seen a huge difference in how much they eat of this. They also are less messy than a seeded diet. Will be continuing to purchase for them.

I love Lafeber's for Canaries! Twenty years ago I began to rehab special needs bluejays and have offered them this food as a part of their daily diet since Day One. My birds are not releasable as they are blind in one eye and have arthritic conditions. No one can believe it--but two of my original four birds are still alive and have reached 20 years of age. They do get exquisite care, but I believe the nutrients in this food are key to their longevity and have helped to provide great quality of life for much longer than would have ever been anticipated. Thank you, Lafeber's!!!

Was not impressed with the expiry date, so had to write several emails to the company to sort out, I photograph the product, and then eventually was told that the expiry date is in American format (month-day-year) not UK style (day-month-year), so where I thought it expired in August it was actually December. As to the pellets themselves - it is very difficult to get your canary to eat them they naturally prefer seeds (which are not as good for them) but I am trying to move them over to this better diet.
