I bought this to 'fix' an issue for my parents on their 2009 Ford Edge. While I don't know what exactly caused the need for this I can easily guess. Buying this was pretty painless and the install was simple. As was noted beforehand this does NOT include anything to mount it to the front bumper, but those were easily sourced at a local auto parts store. Installation took me less than five minutes (and some of that was cleaning and waxing the bumper where this would be getting mounted). So long as the bumper itself isn't damaged then this unit should work great to make you 'legal' again in states that require a front mounted license plate.
