My unit was NOT waterproof.
The inverter was installed and working great. After 2 days of rain the inverter failed. After disconnecting and bringing indoors i noticed water dripping out of one of the seams. All of the cover screws appeared to be loose! It is advertised as waterproof but this unit was not. My advise to anyone purchasing this unit for wet conditions: make sure all the screws are tight before it rains!
