I purchased this during Black Friday week... month... and I couldn't be happier with the value. It's immediately apparent that this is a quality drive, with a good weighty metal enclosure and well-spaced circuitry. The rubber casing may not be to everyone's tastes as dust will stick to it; however this is my only gripe with the hardware, and I appreciate that the rubber does a great job of absorbing minor impacts. The USB-C cable is a sufficiently short length so as not to cause clutter. There's also an LED indicator light for read-write activity. I use this drive with my M1 Pro MacBook Pro and have had no issues with compatibility. Works well with any formatting, though I would recommend APFS since that was designed for SSD storage. Read and write speeds are not as advertised - I'm getting approximately 940mbs read and 870mbs write, but this isn't a fault with the drive, rather it's the Mac itself and Apple's odd refusal to step-up. Even at the real speeds I'm getting however, it's still blazing fast for everything that I need to do. For instance, a 7gb package will transfer in around 7 seconds, which is pretty astonishing. I couldn't be happier with this drive and only wish I had purchased another for my Time Machine!

Now have a couple of these as I found the first one so useful. Quick, reliable, pretty much bullet-proof and effective. I'm using one for an in-car recording system and it seems utterly unbothered by the heat or the large number of writes - 2 years in and still going strong.

These are excellent, ultra-fast drives and appear to be well made. Make sure you use the supplied cables. Other USBC cables make them MUCH slower.

I own quite a few of the T9s and they’ve all been incredibly reliable, very fast and fantastic for intensive large files (film editing, colour grading, images and fast data back up storage). This has been even better than the many previous generation T7 / T7 shields I own, it’s a lot more reliable and fast - even though the mb/s on both the T7 and T9 are higher than what my computer ports can use, the T9 is always faster to load, transfer, write, copy and edit from. It feels very durable and is definitely portable. It can get hot, but I’ve never had a portable SSD that doesn’t! The only reason for the 4 star is that I don’t know if the upgrades here from other SSDs on the market is worth the much higher cost.
