Great album from one of the best artist guitarist
Great album from one of the best artist guitarist.. I'm sure this Burning Rain album is very under rated in many instances. These songs rock it. Greatguitar riffs an the vocals are good enough for listening.. All the musicians represented here are well played.

Not bad
I got this after I bought the new one Epic Obsession(which is really good) anyway I think there was a 10 yr. span between these two and it shows. This is the older one and it has some good stuff on it and great playing,Doug's guitar work is always steller, and the band sounds good,I just don't think the songs are as good as the new disc, that said the first two songs are killer and from that point on it is hit and miss, still worth getting though.

Why Grunge over this?
Ripping guitars, great meoldies and strong vocals you can understand and even a power ballad or two makes for some enjoyable music. Why this lost to Grunge I will never understand. Oh well at least these bands still exist and still rock. Check out all of Buring Rains CD's. Good stuff.

Doug Aldrich on fire!!!
Doug's guitar playing on this CD is the combination of every influence he's been subjected to......the guy is stellar!! All songs have hook and show the collective talent as a steamroller of a band!! Vocals are a touchy issue with vocalist style not being my cup of tea....but others may love the guy. The band is so good, I tuned out what didn't suit my taste on vocals. Bottom line, Doug Aldrich is in the same class as John Sykes, George Lynch, Warren De Martini and a few others at the top. Anything he does is worth buying!!!!

Cauldron
Let's have a little cookery lesson;Take one part FOREIGNER, two parts WHITESNAKE, half a cup of DEEP PURPLE and just to spice things up, liberally coat with LED ZEPPELIN - et voila! BURNING RAIN, my friends.....!Now normally, this kind of mixture would have me screaming for the hills, but somehow, this band just (and I mean JUST!) manage to pull it off. Now whether it's the intensity of the riffing and soloing of Doug Aldrich or the vocalisation of Keith St John that just pushes the music a little more forward than straight rip-off, I am not quite sure, but this is one mutha of an album that screams ROCK N ROLL from the opening lines of "Smooth Locomotion" through "Superstar Train" to my personal favourite, "Jungle Queen" all in very quick succession and all displaying tones and riffs reminiscent of the 4 iconic bands that I mentioned in the mix.Certainly, apart from a couple of ballads that Mr Coverdale would not be embarrassed to sing, this album simply takes no prisoners so that by the end of the playing time, you will be left with one very big and silly grin all over your face!If you remotely like the music of Foreigner etc, then this band will certainly cut it for you too!Buy and enjoy, you won't regret it!

Classic Debut!
Mr Aldrich has to go down as one of the greatest guitar talents in the rock arena...full stop! No nonesense riffing and soaring guitar breaks. He doesn't hide behind technical jiggery pokery and wham bars - just plug the trusty old Les Paul into one of Jim Marshall's finest and off we go! Truly outstanding rock music played by a very talented band and cracking vocalist. I am sure Whitesnake could have this energy if David Coverdale was 35 years younger! Boy, these guys rock!
