This is a very high quality product and a good value for the money. I used it to replace my 20-year-old rotting sound deadener mat on my boat's engine hatch. The new material is fairly thick, has a good backing layer and feels dense. I used 3M 90 contact spray adhesive to attach and it seems to have a solid, tight grip. Engine noise is now reduced. Would buy again.

Super sound deadening material. I used this in my boat engine compartment to quiet the noise that he engine makes during operation. I went from steaming to my passengers to talking to them. I had to check to see if the engine was really running!

...it's a challenge to peel the substrate

Incredible material unlike anything I have ever seen or touched applied it to my Klipsch R28F speakers behind the tweeter and mid-range speakers just on the rear inner side of the speaker but not on the inner sides just the rear and omg what a difference in detail and resolution. the speakers have the same signature but detail and smoothness and clarity. This material feels and looks like NASA issue. Also applied it the rear of the tweeters as well. All that smuck is gone just clarity and depth. Panels were cut 8X16 I first cut a 16 by 16 then cut that in half. When you cut use a straight edge utility knife on the paper side. Press the knife though to the cutting board. make sure you use a new blade for a smooth clean cut. Start at the very top of the inside of the speaker and as you go pull the paper along.

I am an engineer and I used this material for noise insulation and soundproofing in the doors of my car when I installed an advanced audio system. I have used several types of materials for the correct acoustic design of car doors. I used this material one for the door cards. And under this material there is another layer for vibration insulation.

Unlike other reviews, I found the adhesive backing very sticky and it stuck great (so far). The foam is a little delicate so if it's going to be in a rough abrasive environment it will flake off. So that's not great.

Using this acoustic foam was so easy on my speaker project. No messing with glue , just peel and stick. Speakers sound great!

Klebt super und dämmt ordentlich. Gut zu verarbeiten.

Ein Marder hat mir die serienmäßig montierte Dämm-Matte unter der Motorhaube meines Skoda Karoq zerbissen, so dass ich diese ersetzen musste. Vor dem Einbau der neuen Matte habe ich mit dem Schaum-Material von Soomj die freien Stellen zwischen den Versteifungsstreben auf der Unterseite der Haube beklebt (direkt auf das Blech). Erst danach habe ich die Original-Dämm-Platte darüber montiert. Da ich die Streben ausgespart habe, war das problemlos möglich, ohne dass irgend etwas geklemmt hat. Das Abziehen der Schutzfolie von der selbstklebenden Rückseite erfordert in der Tat etwas Vorsicht und Fingerspitzengefühl. Mir hat dabei ein Cutter-Messer geholfen. Die Haftung der Klebefläche ist bei sauberem, glattem Untergrund (hier: lackiertes Blech) bombenfest. Man sollte vor dem Aufbringen gut "zielen", da eine Lagekorrektur nicht möglich ist. Ich habe die Größe 40 cm X 100 cm für 19,99 Euro bestellt. Das war für die Motorhaube etwas knapp, so dass ich z. T. stückeln musste. Am besten sollte man für diesen Einsatzzweck 2 Matten bestellen.
