Short articles that are factual and just the right length. Perfect for appointments just pick up and read. Thank you.

Good gift.
I wanted an unusual gift and this certainly fitted the bill. Informative and amusing. A good 'dip in and out' book.

Not worth the price
I have read a lot of English history, and there is nothing new here. Additionally, the cutesy and constant attempts at wordplay were not clever, they were tiresome.I also really HATE books that are historically inaccurate and sloppily edited. The American Revolution WAS NOT in 1880, and it WAS NOT William II who died from the after-effects of falling from his horse when it tripped in a mole hole. The author claims that the first regicide in England was when Charles I got the chop. Apparently he forgot about Edward II, Richard II, Henry VI, and the Princes in the Tower. How can the accuracy of this book be trusted when neither the author, nor the editor, nor the publisher can be bothered to make sure everything is correct? If they can't be bothered, neither can I.
