Using the classic technique of majolica painting, we dip each terracotta pot in a glossy white glaze and then hand paint each blue and teal design. To create the patterns we draw inspiration from ancient Persian Isnic pottery, and Delft blue and white tiles from Holland. Traditional earthenware planters are perfect for outdoor use as the porous nature of the clay allows the plants root system to breath, letting moisture in and out. To use indoors, simply add a glazed saucer or plate to protect your counters from moisture. Earthenware planters will withstand mild winter weather. For the longest lifespan we recommend bringing them indoors during freezing weather. Due to the fact that each planter is hand made, please allow for slight differences in shape, size, pattern and color. These plant pots are hand made in Philadelphia using high quality terracotta clay made in the US. The two person team at Palmer Planter Company designs, creates, fires and packs each one with skill and care. Each planter has a drainage hole, critical for the health of your bulbs and plants.
