Does this valve work for egr and fuel pressure regulator? The fuel pressure valve looks the same but slightly different.

Richard, this is a fuel pressure regulator control solenoid valve, not the fuel pressure regulator. This part sits on top of the valve cover on the Protege engine and switches the vacuum signal to the regulator on command of the ECM.

Will this work on a 2004 mazda 6 with part number K5T49096? It looks to be the same.

I don't think so. I usually call the manufacturer just to be sure.

Honestly, I don’t know, but if it doesn’t you can return it. It fit my 2003 protege. One thing I know is that Mazda uses many of the same parts for their cars.
