CD reissue. Prior to becoming the iconoclastic vocalist who would revolutionize the role of women in rock & roll during the 1980s, Cyndi Lauper fronted Blue Angel, a retro-rock quintet that was all too short-lived. Their sound recalls all that is great about the superbly crafted early-'60s pop music genre. Producer Roy Halee perfectly re-creates Phil Spector's sound on the upbeat "I Had a Love" as well as "Just the Other Day," throwing in more than a hint of a reggae shuffle backbeat. Followers of Lauper's later work will note the overhaul of "Maybe He'll Know" on her similarly strong second solo outing from 1986, True Colors.

A great little slice of a moment in time
..When music was fun and catchy. Before new wave became mopey. Before rap and hip hop and hair metal and grunge. This infectious group of power pop confections is irresistible and the band - including a 20-something Cyndi Lauper on vocals - practically compels you to put on your members only jacket and ray bans and dance. Worth it alone for “Maybe He’ll Know.”

At long last! Issued on CD!!
I was lucky enough to catch Blue Angel performing live. They were wonderful. Why did they break up, just when things were going so well? I have heard allusions to problems with management or legal issues? Whatever the reason, such a shame.I had been bemoaning the fact that my vinyl copy of this was getting pretty worn-out, so I was very happy to see that it had been released on CD, at last!I still get goosebumps whenever I hear the band go into the "say you'll never, never-never leave me..." part on "Maybe He'll Know" and then come out of it with that incredibly energized unison riff by the ensemble! Amazing stuff!I'm so glad that someone in the music business saw what great potential Cyndi had and helped to shape her into the huge success that she surely is, but I can't help but think what if Blue Angel had continued...The five stars are simply for the amazing music on the CD. Truly, a priceless treasure from its time.

Fast delivery, quality product.
Received the record in perfect condition almost, but as good as I expected. Very sweet kind! I am disappointed that the paper slip / lyrics sheet pictured, was not included. I just received the record sleeve/cover and the record itself in a separate plastic sleeve.

I have been searching for this recording for years. Amazon has it available for a reasonable price. I would have even justifies buying the cd or record. This is Cyndi Lauper in her earliest days. You can see some of the music on her own albums but this is a recording worth gettinf
