6ft 80W Aluminum Alloy LED Power Supply Driver LED Transformer 120-12 Volt DC Output

Outperforms rated capacity
Just got the 80w version of this and ran it through its paces briefly. Looks to be able to supply 105 watts without breaking a sweat, but somewhere between 105 and 120 watts there's some sort of overcurrent breaker which trips and resets the supply, causing LEDs to blink.Ran this at 100 watts for 45 minutes and it got a bit warm - about 115F on outer surfaces. Not bad. Voltage droop was only about 0.15v going from zero load to 100w: 12.2v at no load, 12.05v at 100w.Cracked the unit open and the whole thing seems to be encased in a rubbery caulk-like waterproofing compound (the enclosure is fully filled with this); which is what makes the unit so heavy (~2lb), while also keeping it quiet and slowing the amount of time it takes to get warm. There's no question about its waterproofing, given the electronics are fully encapsulated in this compound. However, I was hoping to check to see if there was a fuse on the AC line, and maybe take a look at the build quality of the electronics, but the waterproofing compound made this... impractical at best. Part of that may be intentional by the manufacturer... and so far, that's the only negative I see here: if the internal fuse ever blows, you're not going to be able to replace it.I'll run this in my application using MOSFET-based PWM on the DC side for a few months and see how things go.

So far so good! I am using this in my garage
So far so good!I am using this in my garage. I got it based on all the positive reviews honestly. There seem to be ones that look identical but only half as good reviews so hoping this is a solid product... I will update after a few months.I have the 80watt version because the leds that I bought put out about 70 watts... I believe if you go with the smaller leds you will be fine with a 30-60 watt power supply... personally I'd rather have the large power supply JUST in case one expands their LED string you don't have to purchase another power adaptor.. I just set up my 5630 led strip light ( LEDMO SMD5630 Led Strip Light, 300LEDs 16.4Ft DC12V Daylight White Non-waterproof 25Lm/LED, 2 times brightness than SMD5050 LED Ribbon Light, 5630 LED Tape Got the dimmer: HitLights Wall Mount LED Tape Light Strip Dial Dimmer - Single Color - 5 to 24V DC, 8A Max This is an extremely bright setup. I love it! This seems like a nice power supply. My only gripe is that I wish the wire leads were longer. Honestly though it's not that big of a deal... most people getting this will know how to solder and crimp on new connectors and or add extension. This time in the garage I simply crimped on two fittings so that if need me I can dismantle everything if I need to move it or service it. I would ESPECIALLY like if manufactures started using 90 degree wall plugs. Why they haven't done this as standard is beyond me... not a big deal because of course amazon sells the 90 degree extension plugs. (I like the low profile look and not plugs sticking out of the wall) The power supply is solid and is heavy, doesn't feel cheap. Has at least 6 mounting holes (80watt version) so that you can mount it on the wall vertically/horizontally with no issues.

Nice improvement. I cut the power cord plug off ...
Ordered this on a Sunday night. Arrived Tuesday morning. Appears to be a quality product, well made. Installed without any problems. Works. I used this to replace an existing transformer that died after only 18 months of use. Hopefully, this lasts longer. I have this transformer being controlled by a motion sensor. So line voltage to motion sensor, motion sensor, when activated, sends power to transformer which sends the required 12 volts DC to my under deck LED lights. I have noticed that this transformer has significantly less of "delay" then the told transformer. The old transformer had at least a 3-4 second delay from the time the motion sensor sensed and the LED's turned on. This new one is a second or less. Nice improvement. I cut the power cord plug off and hardwired it into a junction box. Keep in mind the color coded wire is based on European standards. Blue wire is neutral (white wire in USA) and brown wire is the power wire (black wire in the USA). So far, compared to the old transformer, this new one appears to be better built (all metal construction as opposed to plastic), has less of a "on delay", makes no noise, was easy to install, and best of all about $100 cheaper.

I like the length of the AC cord
I bought these to power multiple LED controllers and LED strips. I like the length of the AC cord, allowing me the flexibility to place the power brick anywhere. I would've like to have the DC cord longer to make some of my installations slightly easier or a power switch built into the product (instead of having to unplug every time I wanted to test circuits or loads). But it works as intended with no issues. The screw holes were great for mounting it as well.

Better build materials than the cheap plastic alternative.
Looks to be of quality build. I just couldn't see myself purchasing a power supply that had a plastic outer casing on something that I will need to rely on for a daily basis for many years to come. So I decided to spend a little more money and get this one instead. It seems to be doing the job.

One year later, still going strong!
Almost a year and still working perfectly! This was my second power supply from Intocircuit, my first was the 30w version, and after being happily impressed with the build quality, I also ordered the 80w for my living room accent lighting. Both versions work great, but the 80w has one major bonus: Power-on time is substantially shorter. The 30w unit has approximately 3 seconds delay from power to light, whereas the 80w version is somewhere around a quarter second! Much better!

Great LED strip supply.
This power supply is running under-counter LED strips and some flexible LED tape under my glass bar, all through a Z-Wave dimmer on the low voltage side. All lights come on in the morning and turn off at night so are on all day. This power supply stays cool all day long. I am very pleased with this purchase.
