Q: Can this automatic fire extinguisher be mounted horizontally - will it work equally well?

I had to step in here as Graham's answer contradicts the supplied mounting instructions; it has to be mounted with the nozzle facing down; it can be mounted (almost) horizontally, albeit at a slight incline. There's no fire extinguisher of this type of which I know that can be mounted upside down as the previous answer suggests. I'd dare say this would leave you completely at risk and unprotected in the event of fire.

Q: could I use this in a cupboard? I have about 5 video game consoles, 4k player, sub woofer and amp in a confined space with lots of wires.

Hello, This product is more designed for boats, engines and computer/server rooms but it would be able to be used in a cupboard also, as long as it would have enough room for it to be mounted. You may be better off with something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08KQ71QXP?ref=myi_title_dp as it is smaller and a different shape.

Q: Is this any use in a smalk kitchen

I have it my boat engine housing. It will spray foam over my engine should it catch fire. I would think it's more than you would want in a kitchen. A small handheld spray and fire blanket is what's usually found in a kitchen.

Q: Would you be able to use this in a house?

This is designed for heat to break the vial and thus start the extinguisher. Usually on a boat by the engine so that the fire can be contained there. I suspect in a house you don’t want to wait for things to be that bad in order to start trying to put the fire out. I suspect this isn’t the product for your use case.
