Most people are familiar with the book's main character-Master Hotei-but as the Laughing Buddha. The story begins with the young boy, Ivory One, entering the mysterious Temple of Master Hotei at the age of seven where he then spends the rest of his life living with, and learning from the great Master Hotei.Each chapter is a unique and wonderful spiritual lesson about one specific subject. Master Hotei's marvelous humor, high heart, profound love, meticulously planned stunts, dramatic pantomimes, and endless wisdom invisibly directs the young boy through a series of unfolding learning's that build year by year, and chapter by chapter. As the young boy grows into a young man, his awareness and abilities mature and expand as well. The entire time Master Hotei is cleverly leading him through numerous spiritual discoveries to the unexpected and dramatic exit point within his student's life.When the young man, now called Jade One, had outgrown the Temple and gardens as a place of learning within that incarnation, he decides he is ready to consciously, intentionally, and permanently leave that life. If there was ever a book that was written truly from the heart, then this is it.The joy and the many spiritual lessons I got from reading it are beyond words. It is as relevant now as it was when the book is set, time has no meaning........Many times while reading it I laughed along with Master Hotei.I cannot recommend this book highly enough, beautifully written, with insight to light the path for the amazing times ahead.......

What a delight! Thank you for this enlightening journey into a beautiful past life. And it was lovely to get to know Master Hotei a little better, and to know him as more than the statue whose tummy we rub at the Buddhist temple for good luck!I recently had a little statue of the Laughing Buddha himself come surprisingly into my life and I thought to myself oh, where can I learn more about him and then remembered ah yes maybe the universe will allow me to finally read Denise Le Fay’s book about Master Hotei and sure enough, it was time! And it was perfect.

From the moment I started reading it I could feel this tickle in my heart and stomach like how I would imagine master Hotei's Energy to feel. Every sentence was an "ah'ha" moment. I started highlighting sections to go over again then realised I'd have to highlight the whole book! So i stopped. Wonderful. Full of love. Synchronistically exactly what I needed at this point in time. Have been wanting to read this forever. It will be on my all time favourite list of enlightening books forever :)) Thank you Denise! Great story with good insides that makes you think of the possibility that we have had live in different times and places, also it creates desire in me to start searching of the past lives. Yes I will recommend this book to open minded people.

Denise takes her readers on a journey as she writes of her past life experience with Master Hotei. The book is full of extraordinary life lessons and exceptional wisdom. Enjoyed reading the book. Rev Margaret Rowell
