they don't make them like they used to...
My Philips Sonicare HX999C failed 3 months beyond the 2-year warranty, making loud noises. The flexible grommet that supports the metal brush head post is failing. Their support web form states "We cannot offer you any repair for the selected product outside the warranty period." I'm glad I kept my previous six-year-old model, which is still working.
