Crispy Crunchy Okra Review: Wonderful! - I have ordered these many time, but this time the okra stalks were all in tack. Really nice and fresh and whole pieces of okra. I really wish they weren’t so expensive, but I’d rather spend the money on them than eat chips and snacks that aren’t so healthy. I highly recommend these! And they were packaged well for delivery! Review: Half of these comments TRIPPING - this stuff is FIRE. It’s so good and addicting I literally finished it in two days. I don’t know why the reviews expect so much out of freeze dried veggies- it has a flavor I can’t describe but there’s a taste there. It’s pretty bland because it could be used as a dip or salad topping. I love it. The price for two bags that feel hella light is kinda expensive but then again freeze dried food is already expensive on its own so…

Listen to the bad reviews and save your money and taste buds
Seeing the price, basically $4.30/ 1.4 OUNCES incase you missed that go to your bathroom and find your cotton balls, grab a handful and picture paying $4 bucks for that weight. Relying on strangers, especially with only 4 reviews is iffy, please believe the people who tell you NOT to buy this. Forget completely that it, and the Broccoli is price gouging. I LOVE okra, however I am accustom to the East Indian flavorful preparation. This has NO flavor. It's like eating salted green rice paper. I added some spices to it, but it would have been so much better, had they spiced them properly prior to preparation; especially since they should jump out of the bag, do the dishes, clean my kitchen and then taste fantastic in my mouth for this ridiculous price. I suspect the Broccoli to be equally bland and paper crispy, but have not opened yet. The okra will never be purchase again, I am so grateful that I thought to try the small bag before spend $35-40 on the 2 lb bag. To the maker, try Bengali Okra (more than likely they will only have South Indian) at the best Indian Restaurant you know (word of mouth) compare that to what you sell?

I love dried okra but…
It pains me not to be able to give this product a five star review. I’ve been eating Trader Joe’s okra for years. I used to buy them in store, but they remove them from the shelves periodically. I’m pretty much addicted to the snack so I started ordering on Amazon in bulk. At first the shipments were perfect. The okra was crisp, crunchy and fresh every single time. But over the last few months that has not been the case. I’m not sure if Trader Joe’s changed manufacturing or something but the quality has decreased. When I open the bag and see that the tips/heads of the okra have been removed I already know the product won’t be good. While about half of the bag is edible, many of the pods are often stale (soft) or bitter tasting. The quality varies from bag to bag which is terrible from a quality control standpoint. I still ordered some recently because I’m pretty much addicted to the stuff, but my last few shipments have been quite disappointing.

We like these
I grew up in the South where okra grows happily in the heat, and my family always grew this in the garden. I've had it just about every way you can prepare it and love most of them. It's a favorite veggie of mine. But I had never had it dried until a few years ago. We really like this product. It's nicely done. It does need a bit more salt for us as okra has an inherently sweet flavor once it's dried But they are crunchy with a nice texture. Package says it's one serving size so it's a bit expensive for the amount. I would order again every now and then, but considering the cost this will be an occasional splurge for us.
