Great adapter cable from ATEN.
Great adapter cable. Works exactly as described it should. If your PC operating system does not recognise the connection, you will have to download the ATEN RS-232 adapter driver from ATEN's website and install it as per instructions. Then the RS-232 adapter cable connection will be recognised without a problem.

Good only for home users. No professional usage
This adapter is working only as a direct hardware to hardware connection, like laptop to printer. If you plan to use it with any additional adapter (for example, connecting car programming device via USB>Serial>DB-9>RJ45 route) it does not hold the load and closes connection straight away, as soon as the data feedback is received. Profilic troubleshooter shows this adapter is fitted with the weakest chipset, therefore it is great only for direct connections for the majority of home users.4 stars therefore
