It is very difficult to find a chess set with character and this set by all accounts is just simply gorgeous. From the moment I unboxed it you can tell you have a unique piece. The sweet smell of burlwood with the lacquer gives it a unique experience kind of like the feeling you get in being in a bookstore with that unique book smell. The pieces are beautifully done with precision craftsmanship. The bottom of the board has just the right amount of velt on the edges to keep the board from slipping on my coffee table. The seller fulfilled all expectations. It is an amazing piece that is unique. It has aready brought me joy and I hope to have guest over soon to play some chess while enjoying a cup of coffee. ## Frequently Bought Together - Antique Ivory & Brown Norse Viking Chess Set with 18 inch Cherry Color Board - How to Win at Chess: The Ultimate Guide for Beginners and Beyond - Staunton Tournament Chess Pieces, Triple Weighted with 3.75" King and 2 extra Queens --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/568399697-antique-ivory-and-brown-norse-viking-chess-set-with-18](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/568399697-antique-ivory-and-brown-norse-viking-chess-set-with-18) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-05*
