Installed on brick & painted. Thin, but once painted, not noticeably different from the 60 year old concrete ones on the upstairs windows. Spray painted. Must be careful not to crush when tightening down. Lots of complements! Neighbors love the look.

The plastic was so thin and flimsy that if you tried to drill it, it would have split. The return has been a huge pain, and even though shipping was free to me, I am being charged for the return shipping. I will not order anything from this seller again.

Over the years I have had shutters in many different homes, and I have become a fan of these lightweight shutters that are just for decorative purposes. I ordered the paintable ones and they have turned out very well. I did use a good primer before painting, and it was worth the time. The paint went on very easily after that and they look great with two coats of paint. We have not put them up yet, because we are waiting the four days suggested in the brochure to let the paint totally dry. The shutters arrived promptly and there were lots of helpful directions.
