Well-Made but Pay Attention to the Mounting Hardware
These shelf brackets are indeed very beefy and will credibly support a heavy load as long as they are properly attached to the wall. The brackets come with expansion bolts which are the correct mounting hardware for concrete or masonry walls, but the brackets do not come with lag bolts for mounting to wooden wall studs which is likely the most common mounting surface in the US.Be sure to select lag bolts of the same bolt diameter as the expansion bolts (the bolt itself, not the entire assembly) if you plan to use these on a stud wall, but note that the 4 mounting holes are spaced such that you'll only be able to get two of them into the center of the wall stud. This should be fine unless you are truly going to try to put 500 lbs on the shelf, which seems like an unusually high shelf load. Two lag bolts per bracket driven into the centerline of the stud and 100 lbs max should be safe.I do like the matte finish of the brackets as it helps them to fade into the background. Overall this is a great product but would have been perfect if it were designed with stud wall mounting in mind. The two product photos showing the brackets on drywall are implying that they'll work fine on stud walls, but they won't unless you make the changes I described above.

Great for solid shelf
Very solid product. The angles are solid metal and very strong. The mounts that are supplied are super strong.I would recommend only using a stud to attach to, being the angles are so strong. In my case, I used them for shelving in the laundry room. Supports a 6 ft. leaghty easilyIf you have something that needs solid support. This combination will do the trick._______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________*It is an honor for me to be a Vine Voice. Solid, 6-inch brackets
(Item: HDbonemu Heavy Duty Floating L-Shelf Brackets 8 Inch, Concealed Countertop Brackets, Fireplace Brackets, Hand Welded Steel Brackets Max Load 500 lbs, 6 Inch - 2 Pack)These are solid brackets. Definitely more on the heavy-duty side. Manufacturing and finish is good (not great but, not bad either). They feel solid once attached to a stud. The holes for the lag bolts are wide so, they do allow for some adjustment when mounting. So, that's a plus. I feel more than confident using these shorter ones to help support a 200+ lb desktop. The finish is just ok. There were some scratches on them right out of the box. Definitely not a concern as they'll be under my desk. But, if you were using these on higher-mounted shelves (where they would be more visible), the finish may be more noticeable.Overall, very happy with these.

EXTRA WIDE MOUNTING REQUIRED! Pay attention to the width!
Since most people will mount shelves to a stud vs. cement/stucco, I was surprised that so much effort and funds went to providing the hardware for this and ignoring the lag screws or heavy duty screw needed to mount these L-Shelf Brackets to a wooden stud framed wall.Fortunately, I bought these to use above the inside of a closet door so I was able to screw into the header above the door. This eliminated the concerns with the 3" wide shelf bracket. Shelf finished, safe and able to handle the big stuff.

Very Sturdy Floating Shelf Brackets - However, Careful Attention Must Be Paid to Mounting Them
These HDbonemu Heavy Duty 6-inch Floating L-Shelf Brackets are very well made, nicely finished and very sturdy. The design is sound, as to weight carrying capacity. But I am not sure I would trust to load them up to such a level as the rated 500 Lbs. While the brackets themselves might support this load, the weak link will be the fasteners and wall they are mounted on. The shelf brackets include expansion bolts, which could be used on concrete walls. The bolts are not hardened, but rather mild steel. As to load and also tightening I would be more comfortable using Grade 5, at least.Few people will likely be installing these on concrete walls. Most walls in the US will be block or wooden stud. Assuming you are going to put a lot of weight on these shelves, and looking to hollow block walls, I would not be comfortable drilling into the block and using these expansion bolts with no back plate, and in such a tight pattern. This would run the risk of creating micro-cracks and having the block fracture around the mount and pull out. If looking at wooden stud wall mounting you would need to use lag bolts, which can be quite secure and sturdy. However, the span of the bolt pattern for each bracket will not work with standard 2 x 4 wall studs. The pattern is simply too wide. So, if mounting on a drywall faced wall, backed by studs, you would need to gang the studs behind the wall face to get support. So, basically, the wall will need to be built to accommodate these brackets. I would not even think of using the expansion bolts with the drywall in any configuration as drywall offers virtually no serious support. In conclusion, these are very nice strong brackets. That is what you are buying. They are worthy of five stars. They will likely support very near the rated weight if properly secured. If you really want to put much more than 100 lbs. on these brackets care to make sure the brackets are secured very well and that the type and design of the wall they are attached to will support both the mounting method and weight. Not to do this will likely lead to problems and grief.
