Not just for the woodworkerโฆ
Yeah, you could make one yourself, but for the price, this was a no brainer. BeaverCraft gear is solid. I use this with knives, chisels, and my (single blade) straight razor. Unless youโve really beat your blades up, you can just do this for a few minutes every couple weeks. If the blades are bad, use a stone then this. Itโs a useful skill that is pretty easy to learn. You can get more life out of good and bad metal. Donโt live with dull blades. Donโt waste money on throwing them away and replacing them. Buy this, put some boiled linseed or shellac on the wood (or donโt), and use it a little every week.

Outstanding stropping kit for refining woodworking tools
This strop is made from some of the best leather I have ever encountered. It possesses the perfect smoothness. I really appreciate the size and width of this strop. It feels comfortable in the hand and does its job effectively. The leather has remained intact and has held up well with regular use. You can use a leather knife strop kit to sharpen everything from chip knives to bushcraft knives, as well as both small and large axes. I typically strop my woodcraft tools before and after each project, or every 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the wood, to polish the metal and achieve a razor-sharp finish.

Definte must after using your stones!
Loaded the strop leather pad with the included compound. My first, so not a pro, but my knives are way sharper than just using my diamond stone! Learn the technique and get good and your blades will be scary sharp!

Good craftsmanship.
I heard a lot of glowing things about the Beavercraft strop. I had a different on for several months, but heard too many good things about this one. I couldnโt pass it up on deal for $19.00, and got a 3 pack of stropping compound for free. Iโm really loving it, the leather is a little bit thicker than my previous one. Iโve been sharpening pretty consistent lately and i wanted to step up to a better quality strop. It really hones the edge well or brings it back after use. Simple to use and don't need a lot of time o n it. Quality stuff. Itโs also a really nice size so you can use a bevy of different knife sizes.

Solid board, nice material
Good strop, the compound bit dried up, but I'm using a other one anyways. Works great

If you sharpen knives, you will need one, so why not this one.
When you get into sharpening knives, especially when you start adding various stones, you quickly find that you will also need a good quality strop. Now from all reviews, kangaroo is the best, but they come with a higher cost. This one, although not kangaroo, it is high quality. Remember your grandfather, when sharpening his shaving blade, probably used his old-retired leather belt. Well, this isn't the belt but comes darn close. It comes with two (front and back) stropping pads. It is advised to get and apply some grit compound to not only help with sharpening but protect the pads. Just don't mix grits. Doing so will clog the fibers, and you will need an industrial size rubber eraser (available on the internet) to clean. Good wooden handle giving the strops a good bonding surface and provide ease of use. Although the strops probably, even with proper use, wear down, the surface is large enough that you can "glue" a replacement strop (leather, kangaroo, etc.) with excellent results. With proper use and proper use I expect this to be around for some time. Even with replacement strops. You will need one, eventually, and adding this strop to your sharpening inventory will not disappoint.

It's really large and comft board.
A large and nice board. It actually has two types of leather and is very comfortable to use because it's not the tiny, cheaper board some offer. And then you have the problem of polishing a large knife poorly on it. I've used it to polish even the largest kitchen knives from the Henckels set for 150 GBP. They're one of the best sets for the average user. I polish them back to their original shape with a polisher. I polish my knives every 2 months and they still stay sharp. And that's what it's all about.

Better than expected
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and performance. I wasn't going to use the included strop paste but it was very good.
