Easy to Setup
I bought this for work. I needed a switch to get up 6 cameras and 10 speakers. I plugged them in with this unmanaged switch and they popped up immediately to my system. Great plug and play switch. Very easy setup.

A durable switch that does it's job well
We've had a few of those 'Wmart' switches that have plastic cases and only 5 ports. There's no way that any household-grade equipment with a plastic case is going to last a week in a fabrication shop...so we tried one of these switches - and actually got a second one just days later... If you're looking for a fairly compact unmanaged ethernet switch, you'll enjoy the simplicity & utility of this device. There is a manual (of sorts) included that pertains mostly to POE switches & managed switches that this company also manufactures apparently. You won't need the manual - this is just a simple plug-n-play ethernet switch. If you're buying this item, you probably already know how to use it. It's simple, it's rugged and it does its job. The power adapter has an output of 5vdc @1A which is happily the same as a standard USB accessory charger. The cable on the power supply is only about 2 feet long, but usually there are AC outlets or a power strip nearby your modem/router. It's not a deal breaker 😉 Please note that although there are 8 ethernet ports on this device, 1 will be used for your LAN return connection - so there are really only 7 device input jacks for ethernet. Very obvious but I had to point it out. The green 'activity' lights (labeled 1~8) on the top of the device are not extremely bright and only indicate activity on each port. As long as I view them head on, they're pretty easy to see through the tiny holes in the metal housing. Not a bad thing but worthy of mention. Fixing this to your wall or cabinet is best done with velcro tape or just double sided tape. The keyhole crosses for screw mounting that are stamped into the metal housing are a bit shallow for any screws/screw heads that I had available. Maybe use a flat head nail if you must...but regular screw head just won't fit such a shallow clearance. Please note that the latches on all your ethernet connectors point down to the bottom of the chassis on this device! If you want to unplug a cable, you can't depress the latch to release it from its socket without dismounting the switch from the mounting surface. In actual use, this switch performs very well. I have 6 IP cameras connected to it from our shop and can now run 1 single ethernet cable back to the rack mounted switch in our office - a tremendous reduction in cable clutter. Overall, this is a very good utility level switch that is made well (nice metal housing) and it has performed VERY well for our surveillance cameras on a 24/7 basis. It's a very nice, albeit simple switch. Two thumbs up 👍

Good Home/Home Office Switch
Small switches are the Tinker Toys of networking. While it is preferable to connect each node on the network directly with the main switch, often it is impractical or more expensive than you bargained for. A less expensive approach is to run 1 network cable from the main switch to each area in the office or home, and then use small, industrial strength switches in each area to connect all the devices in that area. It's a strategy I have used with clients who have budget constraints that I need to deal with. These Binardat 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switches are excellent for this purpose. They are built like industrial switches, with solid metal cases, no fans (low noise & energy consumption) and low profile. They can be mounted on the wall or placed on a flat surface (no bottom pads so I place small silicone pads on the bottom so there is air flow underneath the switch). I substituted this switch for one in a Dental office network and everything ran exactly as it had with the Netgear switch. My only hesitation is that I don't know the total throughput of the switch. Each port is 1 Gigabit but is the total switch capacity 8 Gigabits or probably less? I won't use this in a high traffic application since if the total output is lower that could slow down the devices. However, for a home network or a home/office network I don't think that would be an issue. One other note to the manufacturer. The instructions that come with the switch are not pertinent to this switch. Buyers Ignore them! This switch is very simple to use. There is no programming, no configuration, no complications. There are no mounting brackets either. You plug the cable from the main network into one jack and the devices you want to connect in the rest. That's it except for giving it power. I have a couple of 5 port switches and 8 port switches like this and they're all performing flawlessly, and at this price, they're irresistible.

Straightforward Efficiency for IT and Beyond
In the realm of IT, there's a beauty in simplicity, and the Binardat 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch nails it. As someone who's more interested in functionality than frills when it comes to networking gear, I found this switch hits the sweet spot between price and performance. Diving into my latest garage project, this switch's first win was its cost-effectiveness, quickly followed by its solid build quality. Without delving into speed tests or technical benchmarks, I noticed it powered up smoothly and facilitated immediate, hassle-free connections. The switch's metal casing is a plus for me, signaling durability and aiding in heat management—a must for any piece of tech I expect to handle a bit of rough treatment. It feels reliable in hand, the kind of gear that won't let you down. The plastic ports might raise an eyebrow, but considering the ubiquity of plastic in connectivity ports everywhere, it's hardly a deal-breaker. Connections are secure and straightforward, with cables snapping in easily and staying put without unnecessary wiggle. Now, to address a crucial detail for accuracy’s sake: while the switch offers 8 ports, it's important to remember that connecting to an upstream device occupies one port, effectively leaving seven ports available for additional devices. This is a standard limitation, but worth noting for those planning their network layout. As for performance, it's not setting any speed records, but then again, it's not trying to. Nor is it lagging behind. What the Binardat switch does well is provide a straightforward solution to a common problem: turning one connection into seven. It does so with a level of reliability and ease that's commendable. In summary, the Binardat 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch is a no-nonsense piece of equipment that understands its assignment and fulfills it admirably. It's exactly what many of us need—simple, effective network expansion without the headache.

Included power cord is a huge plus!
I ordered the “Binardat 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch, 8 Ports 100/1000Mbps, Mini Size Metal Case Unmanaged Desktop|Wallmount Plug and Play” to review and to help improve my wired Ethernet infrastructure around the house. I love the simple design and that it is made with metal to increase durability. I also love that a power cord is included. Not many low voltage electronics include these anymore. I really like that it has mounting holes to secure it to the wall or cabinet side if needed. I need to run one “feed” wire from my main router and then using switched hubs to parse the connection to individual devices at the target location. This hub will help expand the outgoing ports from my router location since my router ports are all full. 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️– Average to Above Average – At least what you would expect based on the Product Page. Everyday 8-port Gigabit switch at a great price
I always, always need more Ethernet switches! It seems like I'm always running out of ports and needing to add a simple switch at a client site, and often I'm constrained by both space and electrical power where I need to do it. Cheap and cheerful generic switches like this are great for everyday applications - you'd want to go name brand for core infrastructure in a server closet, but at someone's desk setting things up so they can have an IP phone and a PC at the same time from a single Ethernet drop, these are ideal. This switch is made of a metal box with two screw cutouts on the bottom that can be used to dock it vertically or horizontally on a wall in any orientation. It's powered by a 5V/1A barrel jack power adapter, and while that's convenient and included, I wish they'd offered a 5V/1A USB plug like some switch vendors do so it could be powered off of another device. (You could easily make or purchase your own cable that does this, though.) The 8 ports for this switch are all you get - all ports are the same and there's no uplink port or VLAN functionality, which is fine for most applications. Cheap price, seems to work well, no complaints.

A simple sturdy 8 port gigabit switch - short (2 ft.) power cord
This is an 8 port gigabit switch with no bells and whistles. The case is sturdy metal with side vents, and the main chip on the circuit board has a heat sink, so heat should not be an issue. It has 8 small LEDs for each port to indicate activity. These don't change colors for different link speeds, however. They are also not visible at a wide angle, so to see them clearly, one will need to be looking down at the top of the switch. They also aren't very bright, which could be a positive or negative depending on where the switch is installed. The cord for the power adapter is on the short side (22 inches between the strain relief at each end). This will be a plus if near an outlet (less excess cable to deal with), but a larger negative if an outlet is not close by. As the power adapter is 1 amp @ 5 volts output, it would have been nice if the device had used a USB input on the switch, so that both replacement cables and power adapters would be more readily available.

Multiplica tus conexiones!
