It really works
Very impressed. As others have said, it's not a replacement for suspension forks, but it's much lighter and it really does take the edge off shocks from bad roads, gravel tracks etc, and also smooths out vibrations from stones and cobbles on my rigid frame hybrid bike. I found it gets better with use - after about 100 miles it's really 'settled in' and lost some stiffness, giving a significantly more comfortable ride then when new. Read the instructions before changing the elastomers as it's easy to damage the unit. The price is high for what it is, but I suppose the inventors need to recoup the development costs.

Nice performance enhancement for non-suspension all-road/gravel bikes
I purchased this in May 2017, and it has been a constant fixture on both of my gravel/all-road bikes since then (initially a 2015 GT Grade Carbon and for the last year an Ibis Hakka MX). Both bikes and stem have seen substantial hard usage off-road on some of the roughest tracks you might imagine (The photo is from an Exmoor crossing, Google "riding ridgeway foul weather" for more on another particular soggy adventure).Cons:- Weight, it's a bit heavier than a standard stem.- A bit more complicated than a standard stem and the bearings will eventually wear out (still good Feb 2019).Pros:- Very robust and well engineered - aside from oiling once, no maintenance but yet remains silent in operation with no signs of any bearing play.- No impact on bike handling or pedalling efficiency - even with slightly softer pre-load than recommended (to make things a bit easier off-road) I am unable to detect any downside.- Works - it is noticeably more comfortable. Some tracks can now be ridden at a speed that previously would have either had me in the ditch or seeing double.- Enables riding bumpy sections faster - maybe placebo but Strava times, particularly when paired with a ThudBuster LT (not so high quality), are noticeably faster. In summaryOn a bike, your backside and your hands are the two points of contact that aren't designed to take frequent large impacts, and both suffer when they do. Having this installed has added minimal weight and made zero impact on handling and pedalling efficiency while it has made things noticeably more comfortable. This stem was the first upgrade I made to my new Ibis. It remains the first upgrade I would make to any non-suspension bike I intended to use off-road. If you currently ride on rough tarmac or off-road on a bike with no suspension, then I can highly recommend the RedShift ShockStop as an excellent comfort enhancement.

Significantly improves comfort and safety
Technically brilliant although bit pricey but it works very well! Road surface where I cycle in Surrey UK, have, over the last few years, been getting progressively worse due to poor road maintenance. Each ride would inevitably result in hitting holes in the road or avoiding them at the last second, not just uncomfortable but dangerous. Looked at some Youtube reviews and comparisons between the Specialised Future Shock and the Redshift Stem suspension. Didn't want to buy a new bike so I went ahead and bought the Redshift Stem and frankly glad I did. Has made a huge difference, gives both comfort and confidence on the roads. Means I don't have to steer out of the way of every bump in the road apart from the larger potholes. Brilliant product!

Perfect for its intended use.
Really impressed with this product.Fitted easily to my CX bike with clear instructions to change elastomers to suit my weight. In use it does exactly what I'd hoped. You still get the big hits coming through as you'd expect but it does a great jobs of smoothing out chatter and vibrations from road & gravel that can become tiresome. Definitely increased control in some section. Out of the saddle efforts barely feel any different, you can feel a tiny amount of squish but stem still feels rock solid and not bobbing around all over the place.Highly tempted to now get another for the road bike to take the edge of potholed roads. I'd happily accept the small trade-off in weight for the extra comfort.Long term, interested in seeing if it changes in feel when the temperatures drop over winter. Hopefully my memories of old suspension and elastomer freezing solid are a think of the past.

Haven’t really had an opportunity to test out this unit yet.
It’s a well made piece of gear, easy to install. Some reviews I have been reading have stated that it wasn’t the most ergonomically pleasing, but I like the way it’s made and looks. It’s overpriced. Maybe 100 pounds would be fair, but the price is the price and no one is forced to purchaseIt. Haven’t really tested it out properly yet. But Personally I think it’s a valuable addition to overall comfortI have paired it with a Suntour suspension saddle post. And the two work as well as I had expected.Given that as I have stated my experience is limited so far.

Redshift Shock Stop suspension Stem does what it says on the box! Brilliant!
Easy to fit, after watching videos on line was so much easier than appeared. No problem at all. Made an amazing difference to absorbing the vibrations from the ripples and ruts on roads. Only ever had mountain bikes with suspension as couldn’t stand the pain in hands from ruts. Now am riding comfortable miles on a road bike. Which I love. Very expensive stem but was worth it to me to have comfort. Bought second one to fit to my blue Liv Alight Hybrid bike with a suspension seat post, and when larger tyres fitted will be able to ride all terrain I want. Gravel, trails, roads, Bridlepaths all now possible.

Does its job but ultimately a compromise.
Bought this because I signed up to a 60km MTB charity ride with my flat bar gravel bike (no suspension). It did its job off road and paired with some carbon handlebars it reduced shocks and vibration. Riding generally post event I found the steering compromised particularly in cross winds so have gone back to a normal stem. Would fit again for a one off event but it is overpriced for the use it will see.
