My son used to have a ball this size, made out of chrome steel, which he told me it rusts, and it rusted from use and washing the stains off.He's been trying and thinking of a way to derust it, but so far no way.He knows that stainless steel doesn't rust and I gave this to him for his 24th birthday.It came out shiny and so far so good today.though surprising that it came with industrial grease stains that quickly got wiped off, but made him question whether or not it's really made of stainless steel.So far it's still good today, which means it's really the real deal.It's the largest ball bearing available that's made of stainless steel, and that any bigger one is made of Chrome, yet the higher price of stainless steel seems to explain the limit in sizes in stock.He enjoys it well and had a good birthday this year.
