Wonderful machine when it works (it very often doesn't)
I'm revising my comments below. I've been spending time searching for experiences from other users, because, as I said, This machine is excellent when it works. The problems I had encountered led to me being told to return my unit and a replacement was sent. A few times. Two tricks that I've learned: When the unit doesn't find the dock, turn off the robot, then turn it back on, while it's sitting precisely at the dock. This almost always works for me. By doing this occassionaly I've resolved all the issues I've had with the vacuum. I have 2 dogs and a cat, so a lot of pet hair. I have the robot programmed to run a complete sweep of my house (all tiled) every day and this has kept my house pethairfree. It's not really a mop, it's primarily a vacuum. I do like that the damp sweep that it gives while vacumming picks up any remaining dust or hair. Great product for me. This machine is wonderful when it works. Unfortunately it often doesn't work. Customer service is great. Every time it breaks down they are very supportive, they walk you though a few days trouble-shooting, then they tell you to return to them (they pay the postage) and after they've received and verified your unit, they'll ship you a new one. I'm on my 3rd one now that has been replaced. Every time they replace it I'm without it for a few weeks. 4 vacuums in about 4 months means I've been without it for half the time I've owned it.

Impressive Robotic Vacuum
Nice robotic vacuum. I had initially tried the base model shark vacuum and was amused. That particular vacuum used the bump to bump method of cleaning and overall did a good job. Moving into the future was nice since I now didn't need to sweep the floor myself. I wondered how nice it would be to have a robotic mop as well. I found this Roborock with the added mop function and was impressed by the reviews so I decided to give it a try. I have now had the vacuum in operation for the past three weeks and I now feel qualified to provide a review. The vacuum function has five modes: Mop, Quiet, Balanced, Turbo, and MAX. So far I've tried three of the modes, the Balanced, MAX, and the MOP. The Balanced mode allows the Roborock to automatically increase and decrease the suction power depending on the terrain that it goes over such as bare floor vs carpeting, works fine and is not too loud. I could still watch TV while it's doing its thing without too much distraction. The MAX mode is loud and sounds like a quieter version of a full vacuum. I noticed that with MAX mode, the Roborock seems more aggressive when bumping into things. This makes sense as I suspect the primary use for MAX mode would be carpeting. I mostly used the Roborock for hardwood flooring so the Balanced mode has worked fine even though we have four small dogs in the house. The Mop mode drops the vacuum to a bare minimum and is a one time use that needs to be activated in the settings before beginning a cleaning cycle. This should only be used if the floor had already been cleaned. However, I normally use the mopping container on the balanced mode which using higher suction and does the mopping at the same time. I do this about two times per week and it does well in keeping my floors clean. Also, the cleaning pattern of the Mop mode doesn't look any different than the balanced mode so it's almost unnecessary but I can see how it could be handy if used while at home so you can monitor the cleaning. I often fill the water container in the morning before going to work and let it vacuum/mop while I'm away and it does fine just on its own. I think the manual states to be home when using the mopping container but my floors are smooth and I remove anything on the floor that can be so I've yet to have any issues. Obviously, the mopping won't be as good as manually mopping or a steam mop but I have found that with regular use, it does a pretty good job that I can live with. On one occasion, I added vinegar to the water in an attempt to provide a bit of cleaning power to the water and it worked ok but I noticed that the moisture on the floor wasn't as evenly distributed so I don't think that is a winner. On another occasion, I added a little bit of chlorinated surface cleaner to the container and I think it worked a little better since I could smell a little chlorine clean in the air. I think I will be trying this again. Also, the instructions do say not to add cleaners to the water because it could cause the small filtered water distribution ports on the bottom of the container to clog. Well, I just purchased a 12 pack of the filters here on Amazon for less than five bucks so I will be experimenting with adding different types of cleaners that won't leave a residue on the floor https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JZZ3RF3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I have also bought an additional 10 microfiber mopping pads for less than twenty bucks to allow me to replace the cloth after each mopping cycle https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GJNR3TN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. In this manner, once I have a few dirty cloths, I can wash a bunch of them using my washing machine at the same time. The cleaning pattern that the Roborock uses is impressive. Since it literally can see using the laser on its little cupula, it creates a map of the area and does a great job a covering just about every inch of the floor. I have noticed a couple glitches though when I set the software to store the map. On at least two times, I left a loose rug on the floor that caused the robot to get stuck. Someone walking by picked up the robot and set it off of where it stopped and restarted the cleaning. The Roborock appear to "ghost" the room map as seen on my phone app. Basically, the original room map was still there but there was a second offset map as well. This caused the Roborock to extend the cleaning cycle since it wasn't able to know that the issue occurred. However, it still cleaned the entire floor just in some places it did so more than once. At the end of the cycle it struggled to find its home since the dock on the map was offset because of the "ghosted" image. The software provides an option to not save the map which I activated. In this manner it resets the map each time and works well. I didn't set any exclusion zones so have no need to save the map. If I did need to add zones, I would toggle the map saving function and once it completes a new cycle the map would be saved where zones could be added. The voice on the Roborock is adequately loud and clear. It announces when a cleaning cycle is about to start and end, when the dirt container needs to be emptied, and if an error occurs such as when it has gotten stuck on the rug. There may be more things that it announce but the above are the ones I've heard so far. Also, there are several languages and voices that can be set. For english, there is only one option at the moment and it's a female voice - it is nice though. Another interesting thing is that the first few times that the robot mapped the rooms, it would vacuum at an angle to the direction of the square rooms. This bothered my touch of OCD but it did do a good job of cleaning. The last time I reset the map, it now vacuums perpendicular to the walls which are north, south, east, and west - so basically it is now vacuuming in a north south pattern which makes me happy (lol). The timer works perfectly as well. I set the Roborock to clean in balanced mode every day during the week and to MAX mode on the weekends when I'm home. On at least a couple of days during the week, I install the mopping container. On the weekend, I allow the MAX vacuum cycle to complete then perform a second cleaning using the Mop mode for extra cleaning. This cycle is working very well for me. Overall, I am very happy with the Roborock and would definitely buy it again if I had to do it all over again. It cleans well, has a mop feature that I can now not live without, and it is smart! It's currently snowing outside and I sure wish there was a robotic snow cleaner for my driveway!

We named her GlaDos, she talks with her friend Alexa and they both LOOOVE humans!
I'm pretty sure she talks to Alexa and the two of then are plotting to take over the world and enslave humanity. Good thing a good USB cable can easily put a stop to their plans... Seriously I was AMAZED how good this cleaning robot was. I've always been skeptical about cleaning robots aimlessly bumping about the house all day "cleaning." However there is a HUGE difference between a robot that cleans aimlessly and one that cleans methodically. This robot is the later. Even when I heard that it is a methodical cleaning, I was highly skeptical about its capabilities. I figured it'd get lost, get stuck, become trapped and die not being able to go back to its charger, etc. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! The robot works by spinning a laser on its head that maps out its surroundings and crates a map of your home. The laser is surprisingly accurate, I can see individual chair legs and sofa legs of my furniture on the map. It then rolls around your home creating a physical border that defines the rooms. It then "fills in" the map area in sections with consistent back and forth runs. The best feature of the robot is that it's surprisingly smart in its path-finding. It doesn't just reject an area as soon as it bumps into something like chair leg or even a wayward movable object. It tries to CIRCLE around the obstruction. The difference is that it squeezes itself into the nooks and crannies of hard to reach objects to clean them instead of just leaving them blank. The first time my robot bumped into my chair leg, I thought "Oh great" it'll think that it's a wall and nothing under the chair will be cleaned." Instead it kept probing itself around the leg and eventually squeezed itself between the chair legs and cleaned underneath the seat. Furthermore, the chair was next to a row of other bar stools creating a tunnel of legs and the robot squeezed itself between all the legs and cleaned underneath them. It astonished me even more that it found its way back out of the tunnel of legs and back onto its route!!! I'm constantly expecting it to get stuck somewhere and get lost leaving entire areas of my home uncleaned but so far it has not happened. It even works on my rugs (low to medium pile carpets) quite well - going from carpet to hardwood floor with ease. Others have complained about carpet use but so far it's not been a problem for me. The only problem I've had so far was that it can't cross the bit of marble floor stop that separates my living room from the bathroom. The floor stop seems to be too high for it to climb over. Finally it does not do well with cables and wires. Loose charging USB phone cables and extension chords get tangled in its rollers and once I found it back at its charging station with an iPhone USB charger stuck inside. It dragged the cable around the entire apartment. I've learned to secure loose cables so they don't get in the way. It is a vacuum after all and all vacuums' weaknesses are loose cables. Additionally I've noticed since it maps with a laser, I have a floor mirror that reflects the light. My robot thinks my floor mirror is a magical portal to a new dimension. Noise is surprisingly quiet. I was expecting a hive of angry bees but it's a dim hum. There's not even a huge difference between the "balanced" and "max" speeds. I actually fell asleep once while it was cleaning. In terms of suction, it's not as good as a dedicated vacuum like a Dyson. I've tested by throwing a few torn pieces of tissue paper next to it while it was running. The tissue paper didn't get sucked up. It only sucks up items right underneath it, which is find considering it runs in tight parallel lines around your home for max coverage. The app and Alexa integration is also great. I set biweekly cleaning schedules when I'm not home to maintain a high level of cleanliness. It's so smart and dependable that I feel comfortable with it running without any monitoring. I can be at work and track its progress on my phone. I can also tell it to clean a specific area on the phone app, draw a do not enter area, or divide the apartment by rooms to clean a specific room. Finally the Alexa integration is also great, I can easily tell Alexa to clean the apartment. It also has a great spot cleaning feature where you pick up the robot, and clean the spot-cleaning button and it will clean a small area where it was placed. I have not tried the mopping feature yet. By most review accounts it's not great as it just drags a wet rag around the room. It also doesn't stop on carpets so you'll get a wet carpet from using it. I'm not expecting much but I primarily use it for vacuuming anyways. If you're looking for a robot vacuum, I wholeheartedly recommend this! This is so much better than "dumb" robots that bump around randomly. Cleaning my 780 square foot apartment takes approximately 45-50 minutes which is surprisingly fast and took only 35-40% of my battery. Every time it runs, I'm constantly surprised by how effortless and smart the path-finding is. Until now I was never a believer of artificial intelligence but I am now! All hail our new mechanical overlords! (Please leave an upvote, thanks)

So close to 5 stars. Worth the cost
Ive owned mine for several weeks now and feel i can give a pretty informed review. First is that this is definitely worth its cost if trying to find something that will get the job done well and are trying to avoid how expensive the top of the line robot vacuums are. I owned an irobot (only vacuum) for 3 or so years and when it died I had to get a very basic style (vacuumand mop). The mapping was very quick and pretty spot on with the ability to adjust barriers, mark/label different rooms, label the floor type (carpet vs hard floor) ect. I like how I can customize how I want it to clean and can adjust it depending on the day (suction setting, water setting, more detailed pattern, one pass or two, how often I want it to self empty) The mop is basically still the same you see with most, where its a washable pad that glazes over the floor, although this does SLIGHTLY agitate so I guess thats a little better. Ive had once or twice where its gotten stuck on something but that was not its fault at all. The water tank doesnt need to be filled as often as I expected (my basic one needed to be refilled 2 or 3 times in one cleaning) whereas this can go through a few cleaning sessions unless im having my entire house done. Then i would have to refill it at the end of a full house cleaning. Ive had no issues with its docking. Only problem is that there typically is still always some debris after its done and has gone to self empty. Mind you i have a great pyrenees so the hair in this house is overwhelming to the poor vacuum im sure. All I all i would say this has been a HUGE improvement and has taken a significant chore off of my daily list. I still will need to bust out a manual mop, but this is going to be the case no matter what style I were to buy.

Roomba to Roborock
So far, I think I have made the right choice moving from Roomba to Roborock. I have only owned the Roborock for a week so I'm no help on how they hold up. I am also comparing a top of the line Roborock, S6 Max V, to middle of the road Roombas, 614 and 890. I live in a smaller single story home with hard floors and a couple of large rugs. I have no pets. My search for a robot vac started with Roomba. They seem to be the big name out there. I did some research and purchased a 614 (mid-level with no Wi-fi). It was a bit a loud and constantly wandered around. I decided to use it while I'm out of the house but I always forgot to push the clean button before I left. So, after seeing a deal on the 890 (fairly similar but with Wifi), I picked it up. Now, I could turn it on from my phone while I was away. Neither Roomba was very smart so I spent a fair amount of time trying to find where it got stuck. They like to hide under your couch, bed and even low shelves. It wasn't unusual to have it missing for a week or two. Even when they didn't get stuck, they still had trouble finding home and they clearly missed a lot of spots. I finally got fed up with trying to reseat the 890 on the charger so it would recharge and was back on the hunt. I researched the opposition. I wanted something that connected to Wifi, could map out the house so I could direct it to areas to clean, would avoid getting tangled up in cords and shoes and could run in the dark. I live in Texas and close shades and drapes (several blackout drapes) when I'm away to save on A/C during our hot summers. The Roborock S6 MaxV seemed to cover all these needs as well as the miscellaneous turd in the middle of your floor (not that this happens in my house but it's always good to be safe). I have now run the Roborock S6 MaxV four times in my house but have not used the mop feature. I have old pergo style floors and have made mistakes with a mop so I'm wary. The Roborock works in squares/rectangles. It seems to have a max length by width per area. It finds the edges of the area first to map it, then starts a back and forth pattern like lines on a page to clean that area. It will then move to the next area, map it and then vacuum in a pattern. As an anal-retentive individual, I am very pleased with this approach. It makes it much easier to work around. Once it has mapped out your house you can save the map and break it up into different areas or rooms. On its first run, it mapped out my bedroom, bathroom and about two feet of a hallway. It then returned to the charger and stopped. The second run almost completed but it got hung up on a power cord in the last room. I cleaned up my messy cords and on run three it cleaned and mapped the entire house. You have to turn on the save map feature (I waited until after it was successful and returned to the charger) if you want a map you can use. I then went in and broke the map into areas. It created a few of its own areas but you can use a line to divide those or even combine the separate areas it creates. I now have an area for my bedroom/bathroom/garage hall, living room/entry hall, kitchen/dining room and office/spare bedroom/2nd bath. For my fourth run, I wanted to test the map out. I cleaned the kitchen counters by wiping the crumbs on the floor. I then opened the app, selected the room (kitchen) and told it to clean. It did as it was told then returned to the charger. I am crumb-free. So far, I am very happy with this purchase. I can run it from home or while I am away. I can direct it to clean the house, clean a room (area I have created) or I can even create a zone on the map for it to clean. The dustbin is easy to clean (no major issues with Roomba or Roborock). I find it to be a bit quieter than the Roomba and the pattern is a welcome change. I try to avoid foil hats but I really think the Roomba likes to hone in on my phone. If I was in the house while it was running, I could almost guarantee it would beeline from cleaning the other side to wherever I (my phone) was. I will try to update if I find any major issues.

happy with purchase
I bought this robot about 2 months ago. I have been happy with the purchase. We have a single story home with hardwood floors and area rugs. I have not used the mop function and do not intend to. We have two dogs (one long haired) and two cats, along with two humans. I found the robot easy to program. I had no problems with internet connectivity. It did a good job mapping the house, although I did re-do the map once to capture an area that was missed the first time. It is kind of like a toddler. Don't think you can start it up and go grocery shopping. You really need to be there keeping an eye on it so it doesn't eat a cord or get jammed somewhere. I do a sweep of the rooms I am cleaning and make sure everything is out of the way. I don't think it is great on the area rugs. It kind of spins its wheels or gets hung up. I ended up marking the rugs as no-go zones. A couple times it has gotten a thread from a rug wound up in its wheels so I pick up the smaller utility rugs. My house is about 2200 sf, and it can do about half of it on one charge. I usually do a couple rooms a day. The heaviest used rooms get vacuumed twice a week and the others once. This keeps everything pretty clean and I am happy with the result. It does need to be cleaned out regularly. Hair gets wound around the sweeper. There are filters to empty and clean. It is kind of hard to pull out hair wound around the propeller wheels, this takes me some work with a tweezers and scissor. The internet says there is a way to pop the wheels out to clean but I haven't wanted to risk breakage. It automatically empties the bin and that works well. I bought generic replacement lint bags off the internet and they work great. Overall I feel this is a pretty good product for the money. I would buy it again.

Very detailed on floors without carpeting.
I would give it a 3 1/2 if I could. This is also coming from someone who has a dog that sheds year round. It works well on tile and hardwood. If it runs over any liquid including mere drops of water (dog drool and water after dog drinks), it throws off the suction and emptying process. You may not see it for a few cycles depending on how much fur it picks up each time. You begin to see clumps of fur as it gathers and gets jammed. As it runs over a mat, you may see a fur bomb. That's an indication you need to clean out the roller and filter area. If you pick up all liquid before running it, it runs as it should. We tested to see how it would do on a carpet before buying another one. It did not do well. It does very well in corners and up to the edges of walls. Very detailed cleaning. It has its moments where it runs around the edge of rooms and then doesn't vacuum the rest of the rooms. I remapped and it appears to have fixed the issue. It does not run more than 1 hour before the need to go back to charge before resuming. It has its issues, but I don't regret purchasing it. I just don't recommend to use on wall to wall carpeting. It can clean in places I don't normally get to on a regular basis. Be sure to pick up cords when running or it can get stuck. I did not try the mopping option and don't plan to, because I want a more thorough mopping than what this vacuum is able to do.

Excellent Robotic Vaccuum with Lots of Features
A Little Background: This review is coming from someone who works in the IT industry, so I'm very comfortable with technology. Features and settings that I say work great and are easy to setup may not come so easily to some. That said, I don't have extensive experience with robotic vacuums. I have used the same ole Roomba 670 for the past few years and haven't "upgraded" because, quite frankly, I was never really impressed with the technology. Don't get me wrong, the 670 picks up great, but the pinball cleaning pattern just isn't conducive with whole-home use and made it, at least in my estimation, "good enough for the high spots". Coming from that, what I'm impressed with may not be so impressive to some. There's your context, so apply it to my product review and dissect accordingly. Suggestions: 1) Make sure it's fully charged before doing anything. Download the app while you wait so you'll have that handy once it's time to begin setup. 2) RTFM. It's a pathetic little guide almost devoid of meaningful information but read it anyway. You may extract tidbits of info that you find useful. 3) Once ready for setup, open the app and begin the wireless connection to the robot. Some access points will recognize that the client doesn't support 5 GHz connections and isolate that band automatically, but if yours doesn't choose the 2.4 GHz connection NOT the 5 GHz. Recommendations: 1) Update the firmware immediately after setup is complete. This will ensure the latest fixes and features are available, potentially making for a much smoother experience. Access your robot in the app and open its settings. Click on "Firmware Updates" and apply if an update is available. Make sure the robot is fully charged before you start this process and don't touch anything until it is completed. The robot will announce that the update is complete, and the app will indicate that the firmware is up to date. FINALLY! TIME TO CLEAN! *** Not so fast! IF you want to save the map generated by the robot, you'll need to enable that option in settings FIRST! I really debated on whether to share this information or let folks experience the same joy I experienced when the first cleaning was completed, and I went to edit the map. Only then did I learn this setting needed enabling. Once again, access the robot in the app and open its settings. Open "Manage Maps" > Enable "Map Saving (Beta)" > Set the number of levels in your home you'll use the robot in. There, now that I've robbed you of that wonderful experience start the robot and let it clean. Only pick it up or assist it if requested. Now, the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: Good: 1) Cleaning (Grade: A+): Suction is powerful on bare floors and the automatic carpet boost works great on runners and throw rugs. My floors are bare throughout the home with low-cut level loop style rugs scattered abroad. I cannot speak to the vacuum's performance on carpet, but I'd guess it would perform great on low and medium level loop carpets. I'm not so sure about shag or cut pile style carpeting. Thinking about how these robotic vacuums work, I'm not too sure any of them would do much more than tug at the long, thick fibers. You can manually adjust the power of this vacuum in its settings, so a little experimentation might make all the difference between great or poor performance on carpeting. 2) Pattern/Navigation (Grade: A+): The sensors on this robot are awesome and that means the software and engineering driving the robot is awesome. The robot cleans in a methodical back-and-forth pattern that overlaps just enough to ensure thorough cleaning, but not enough to amount to wasted energy. It calculates the cleaning area as it maps the surroundings, cleaning in small grids along its path. It does an excellent job of identifying objects and navigating around (or over) them. The cliff sensor works well, and the robot spends less time bumping into and getting stuck under objects, and more time cleaning the floor. It does a tremendous job at edge cleaning as well. This robot has true "smarts". Goodbye pinball wizard robot vacuum. 3) Mapping (Grade: A+): It's mind blowing to watch how quickly this thing maps the room and its surroundings. Once you have the damned setting enabled to save the maps, features such as spot cleaning, room/zone editing, and no-go zones seem to work great. I've seen several complaints about mapping, but I'd point out an important caveat to that feature and that would be the word (BETA) beside the setting. When software (or in this case a feature) is in beta, bugs are to be expected as it is rolled out. Because the mapping feature is disabled by default, enabling it means you are agreeing to the UAT (User Acceptance Testing). Sending a detailed email to support about the bugs you are experiencing will help advance the development and push the software stable more quickly. Much more quickly than leaving a product review like "mapping sucks", "mapping is garbage", etc. Until it is stable, issues with mapping are on YOU as soon as you toggle that setting. They seem to be very actively updating and improving the software, so I expect this feature to be stabilized sooner than later. Unfortunately, testing takes the one thing we all hate to sacrifice...time. 4) Features (Grade: A+): To highlight a few: Manually adjust the vacuum power, Pin n Go (tap a spot on the map and deploy for spot cleaning), In-app Remote Control, Scheduling, Mapping, No-Go Zones, Room and Zone Editing, Cleaning History, Guided Maintenance Scheduling and Monitoring, Firmware Updates. This thing is packed! 5) Durability (Grade: A+): Of course, the true measure of durability is time, but you know how it is when you can tell you're holding and looking at a well-made product. This vacuum has that look and feel that is reassuring that it will last for a long time to come. I've also witnessed it climb in and out of a table stand with legs made of square metal tubing on multiple occasions, and had I not seen it, I'd have placed money against it being able to do so. The legs are black, so I guess it doesn't "see" them? I don't know, but it's tripping. If it were cheaply made there's no way the drive train would be stout enough to traverse that obstacle. Bad: 1) Dust Bin (Grade: C+): The dust bin is tiny. I mean really tiny. I mean it's really, really tiny. Roborock has announced an automatic dumping dock is forthcoming, and I hope they have the good sense to make it compatible with a wide variety of their robots, because they'll make a fortune selling the things if the other models have capacities like this one. I'd buy one right now if it were available for the S4 Max. If they rush it or allow marketing to dictate the development and make it only compatible with the latest and greatest robot in a bid to push consumers to upgrade, they're going to miss out on a lot of revenue. They'll be severely underestimating my ability and willingness to push pause, dump the bin, and resume cleaning if they decide to go that route. 2) Documentation (Grade: C-): It's thin. It's so thin it's almost transparent. It is the weakest link in Roborock's chain. You can read the manual, in-app help, and every FAQ on the website and hardly glean a single thing of note. Sure, it mentions most every feature but elaborates on almost none of them. It's as if robotic vacuuming with Roborock is a delicacy that you must cook yourself, but they want you to prepare it without giving away the recipe or any of the ingredients. I have no idea why I'm bitching about it though. I've really had no need for it, but it's still true for those who do. Ugly: Absolutely None! Buy it. You'll love it if you're coming from an outdated model with a fraction of the features. I'm sure you'll appreciate all that it has to offer if you're coming from a slighly older model looking to upgrade, or crossing over from a rival brand in search of something better.

Very bad purchasing experience
The product is probably nice and effective, but the seller is selling it in Saudi market where the voltage is incompatible to the functioning of the product. They should not sell it in a market which is not right for the product!
