I occasionally enjoy reading collections of short stories, especially the Christmas variety. My favorites among these five stories were: A "Home for Hannah" about a young orphan who decided to find her own "papa" when she overheard the evil brother and sister - owners of the orphanage in which she lived, discuss turning her out. I also enjoyed "Wooing the Wolf" - a rakeful bachelor who had to return home during the holidays to rusticate after one of his lady friends decided to claw his face up. What he found upon his arrival home was very unexpected, but loads of fun. I particularly loved the way he was always yelling and getting up in the boughs only to come back down to earth and be his gentlemanly self. Review: As the title hints, the stars in this collection all have a bit of magic, beyond that expected of Christmas. I could wish for more variety in the traditions,but I suppose that Metzger is a romance writer, not a folklorist. It was a nice selection of ghosts and wizards and wishes.
