Used brawn razors for last 35+ years
Braun has been my go to razor for 35+ years. High-quality, well engineered designs. I upgraded from the series 7 to the series 8. The last razor lasted me six or more years. I only replaced it because I wanted a new one. It’s a good idea to replace the head and screen every 6 to 8 months. Very easy to use and shaves close, with no irritation. I use Lectric Shave (pre-shave liquid) just to make the cutting easier.

It is the BEST!
Best shaver that this 73 year old has ever owned. I have had a few.

Product a little over-rated!
Takes a lot to get a clean facial shave, doesn't do a very good job on short facial hair!.

Worth The Investment
It is VERY difficult to find a REAL electric shaver these days. Almost all brands have penny-pinched their way into what has become a market full of basically "toy" shavers. Weak motors, cheap blades etc. My beard is not "thick" so I don't know how gents with thick heavy beards could use one? Braun is NOT A TOY shaver. Fine engineering and materials and a real, functionning cleaning system. Easy CLOSE shaving that is comfortable and fast! When you are ready (IE: Frustrated & angry enough like I was) to invest in a REAL SHAVER and not a toy, you'll find it was worth every cent.

Great shave
This gives an excellent, close shave. The battery lasts a long time because there is a battery in both the shaver and the case. I don't know how long, as so far I have only used it without charging for a week, but the battery indicator is still at max. Comes with a wet cleaning system you can use every day (but you will need to purchase Braun's cleaning liquid). It gets in close under my nose, and the sideburn trimmer works well.

DO NOT BUY DOES NOT WORK
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! NO NO NO... I have never spent so much on a razor. I did alot of research and found that this razor kept popping up as the best. I didnt go to sponsored pages, i try to stay away from reviews that are or could be biased because of kick backs, etc. So i was looking for a really good razor because i hate shaving but i hate stuble even more. So i bought this razor. It comes in a flashy box with all kinds of cool accessories and a really cool charging station that looks futuristic, Its very nice i will give them that. They paid alot of attention to details and it really stands out. BUT and its a very big BUT, it does not shave worth a poop. I can go over and over my face, wet or dry and still feel stubble. Wet is better, but neither is good. I still have to use my gillette 5 blade razor to get that close shave. I feel like it was over $300 down the drain. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! if you want a close shave youd be better off buying a $90 remington tripple blade type razor with the 3 circular blades on top. It cuts and leaves your face more smooth than this thing. It will go down in history with other huge regrets and money wasted. Very disappointed with Amazon and Braun.

Shaves well but the base is big, cheap feeling, wobbly, and fiddly to use.
This is my 3rd purchase of a Braun electric shaver, and while the shaver, like its predecessors, gives an excellent, close shave, the base cleaning unit on this model is disappointing, especially at this price point. With the previous two models I had the base was smaller and made of thicker plastic, giving it a solid feeling despite its small size. This new model, however, features a base that is larger and is made of cheap feeling thinner plastic which makes it feel unstable when holding the heavier shaver. In addition, with previous models the shaver clicked/fell into position in the cleaning base more solidly, while with this new model I have to fuss with the positioning of the shaver before it connects with the base and it's possible to charge and clean it. Finally, the previous two models had the spiral/corkscrew cords that plugged into the outlet while this model just has a long cord that has to be wrapped and tied to control the excess length, not an elegant solution at all and it looks pretty discount. Oh, and I will agree with other reviewers here that the manual is HORRIBLE, and I have no idea what most of the wordless images are supposed to mean. So all in all, a good shaver with a disappointing base that is a step back from previous models. Caveat emptor.

Where has this been all my life?!
Honestly I am a total beginner to electric razors, so my opinion may not be worth a ton, but I absolutely love this thing. I’m 40 this march, and until I bought this 7 or so months ago I had only ever tried one electric razor before and it was so bad I just assumed electric razors were garbage. I am able to get ALMOST as close with this as I am any disposable razor no matter how many blades it has or how stupid expensive a 3 pack is….. More importantly it is much less mess and much less effort, and I don’t have to worry about terrible bumps and redness. No tugging or pulling, no struggling to get through thick hairs, or stopping in the middle of a shave. You don’t have to clean it manually halfway through. That was my experience the one and only other experience I had. I really like the self cleaning base, and was both impressed and disgusted with how much hair and other nastiness gathered in the bottom of the tank the first time I replaced it. 7 months later and the blade seems just as sharp as the day I bought it. The battery also seems to sho no signs of age, as I don’t think I’ve ever seen it lose one notch in the time it takes me to shave, and if I don’t charge it between days because I forget to put it in the stand, same story full battery. Me (white 40 M) and my husband (black 50 M) both use it at least every other day. Though neither of us go full bare face (chin strap or goatee usually) , 2 adults using one razor for 7 months and working like new seems damn impressive to me. My husband has quite a bit thicker hair as a black man. He can’t get quite as close as me, but he can’t even attempt to use a traditional disposable razor without major skin problems, and either has to use a straight edge or go to the barber shop. Using this in between the barber has saved a lot of time and money for him, without the hassle and stress of trying to use a straight edge at home. Like I said in the beginning, I am not sure how this measures up to any other modern electric razor, but if you’re like me and have not used a quality electric razor in a long time, or ever, it is really worth a try!! Safe to say they have really come a long way in the 20 years it’s been since I tried one, either that or I just used the wrong one 20 years ago.
