Weddell Duo Shower Head Filter, NSF Certified Chlorine Reduction, Lead-Free

There are so many water filters out there and they all promise to filter all kinds of contaminants. The problem is when they are tested most of them don't remove the contaminants they say they do. In some cases they even add extra contaminants to the water that were not there before. This is true for both drinking water and shower filters. Thousands of brands and yet only a handful of them actually filter the water as advertised. Based on my research this is the only shower filter available that filters the widest range of contaminants. It outperformed every other shower filter it was compared against. There are some filters that use a higher quality external material like metal or a more aesthetically pleasing design but none of them filter out the contaminants that the weddell duo filter does. So if your main concern is filtering out the highest level of contaminants then you can save yourself hours and hours of research because this is the only one that's going to get the job done. Key points: #1. Cheapest priced shower filter that actually filters out the most contaminates. More expensive shower filters filter less than the weddell. #2. Price compares to other filters that only filter out simple contaminates like chlorine. #3. Filters out pfas (forever chemicals) which is super important because the body has a hard time removing them once they get inside. Forever chemicals are extremely toxic and can stay inside your body for 10 years. These pfas are everywhere. On waterproof clothing, dental floss, fast food containers and the list goes on. Best not to bath yourself in pfas on top of everything else. Side note: In studies oatmeal has shown to lower pfas levels in the body. #4. It also filters out disinfection byproducts (DBPs). Most filters cannot filter these type of contaminates even if they advertise they do. It's important these get filtered out because they become aerosolized and you inhale them the entire time you are in the shower and even after your shower. During a 10 minute shower it exposes you to equivalent of drinking 2 to 3 liters of unfiltered tap water. Keep doubling those numbers every 10 minutes. During a shower all those contaminates bypass the bodies liver and goes straight to the blood stream. At least if you drank those contaminates the liver would filter some out before it reaches your blood stream. Showers might just be more dangerous than cigarettes. A Shower is like a cocktail of all the most dangerous toxins on the planet in the most bio available form your body can absorb. I don't know if you can get any worse.

I installed it a few days ago. Tip - install this, test the water, then add the head and test for leaking again. Initially, it was leaking between the connector and the unit. The source was a washer not set correctly, so I had to remove everything. The same happened when I added the showerhead. So far, it appears to be very sturdy. The showerhead I'm using is about 6lbs without water and there are no issues. It does rotate a little bit if bumped, but no leaking. The white filter began to darken in the few days I'm using it. I didn't realize how dirty my water was! Also, the smell of chlorine is gone. I chose this filter because of everything it claims to remove, and I can actually see some of it, so that's nice! No water pressure loss has been noticed. The one thing to consider is that your showerhead will be lower. It measures about 3.5" from connector to connector. Overall, the difference in hair and skin will be subtle I'm sure, but knowing my water is cleaner makes this worth it to me!

First off, it really works. The water in noticeably softer, smells better, everything. I also got the pink one since our bathroom was remodeled in 1983, so everything is pink. It's really hard to find things that match so this was perfect. About the pressure. I know the website and comments say this should happen but I tried it on two different shower heads, installed and re-installed. We had "OK" water pressure before so when it dropped a little, it was quite noticeable. I'll go read a few "tips and tricks" on how to boost this.

I have been using it for almost a year and the water flow never slowed down ! When I first used it, my hear and skin felt like I showered with rain water, everything was so silky :) No more skin irritation, no more losing hair, nothing ! And yet, the best part is that when you need to replace the filters, you can get different sets for half the price lasting you years. The more white filters in the pack - the better, there is only one black filter in each pack. Again, I am very pleased with this filter and I already purchased the replacement set. I can only imagine that all the low reviews are either from the competition or from people that do not read what this filter system does for the price.

Finally, clean water to shower in 😭 Received filter today and just used it for the first time and instantly when I cut the water on the filter went to work removing all the gunk in our water. (See picture) After my shower I noticed a change. My skin didn’t feel tight or stiff. There would be nights laying in bed and my skin would constantly itch! Lotion, oil even the best body wash on the market didn’t help. The PFAS in our water are above the “normal range” (as if that is supposed to be normal in water you bathe and drink 🙄) even the strong smell of chlorine is gone! No more hard water. There are so many different shower head filters on the market and I done days of research for the right one and I’m so thankful I chose this one. Thank you, thank you! Telling everyone I know! The shower filter was easy to install and fit onto my existing install. the filters are easy to remove and replace, when need be. Overall its visible to see the water going through the filter and does its job well assuming its filtering. The only issue is that there is a small change in pressure from the shower, most likely due to having to go through the filter, but it probably wont be noticable in houses with a strong enough water pressure.

I was skeptical a shower filter could make a difference, but Duo proved me wrong after one week. Why it earned 5 stars: Water feel: Immediate change. Water feels softer and my skin isn’t tight or itchy post-shower. My hair is less frizzy and actually looks shinier. NSF certified: Knowing it’s certified for chlorine reduction and lead-free gave me peace of mind. You can tell it’s actually filtering, not just marketing. Installation: Took 5 minutes with no tools. Screws right onto the existing shower arm and the instructions are clear. Zero leaks. Design: The black finish looks sleek. Award-winning makes sense because it doesn’t look like clunky hardware store plumbing. Healthier hair & skin: This was the big one. Less dryness, less irritation, and my color-treated hair isn’t fading as fast. Note: You do need to replace the cartridge every 6 months, but that’s standard for any real filter. If you deal with hard water, dry skin, or dull hair, get this. It’s the easiest bathroom upgrade I’ve made and I notice it every single day.

This product has helped reduce what ever was in city water as evidence, improvement in my skin. Would give it a five but in less than a year plastic piece wears out and leaked really bad.

Decided to give this filter a whirl after YouTube seemed to confirm it's the one to have. Suffered horribly with rashes, dry skin and a whole plethora of issues, and despite being here 4 years now, only just realised it might be the water after it twigged from a recent trip. Before, within 2 hours of a shower, I'd have a couple of patches of dry skin that would come off to be weepy underneath. With this.. it's almost entirely gone. At the end of the day, it's a filter. Pressure isn't dropped but the flow is. You can't get around that, and it's gutting, but the choice is lower flow or problems that wake you up in the night.. It feels expensive but watch lab tests between this and others and it's the one to have. Feels well made. Installation is as easy as it comes - and whilst it looks a bit odd, being a horizontal unit means that the shower doesn't hang as low (rain shower) Worthwhile buy.
