Installs super easy fit really well and on its second season no issues

Very easy to install, I installed this on a Maxair fan, it only required 4 pins to go through the mounting system on the fan. It doesn't allow the fan lid to open fully (it does open around ⅔ to ¾ which is fine), but it does allow you to leave the fan lid open without having to worry about rain. I installed another Maxair vent cover on a non maxair vent and instalation was pretty simple, just drill 4 small holes on the vertical edge and bolt on the hardware. They are also easy to remove simply by pulling out the 4 pins, they will come off for whatever reason you want. I also like the protection this gives against hail, I've seen vent lids destroyed by hail then rain soaks the inside of the R.V.

I bought this as an upgrade over my old Maxxair type 1 cover over the standard RV manufacturers fan and vent when I upgraded that fan. The cover is well made, fits well and is very easy to fit over a Maxxair fan as they have matching lugs to clip onto - the most difficult bit about that installation is climbing the ladder to do it. If you don't have a Maxxair fan, you will need to use all the brackets they supply, which again is an easy job, and they supply all fixings in aluminium and stainless steel. It might take you and hour if you have to use the fitting kit, otherwise, it takes longer to find the ladder! This expensive piece of odd shaped plastic is designed to allow you to leave the vent open in the rain and while travelling. I have no doubt it will be good for that. My reason for the low stars is that for your $100, they don't even include a bug screen! I have never, ever camped anywhere that didn't require a bug screen. To find that piece is extra after it arrived was more than a little annoying. For that privilege they would like another $32.44. So, after spending nearly $300 on a new fan that you cannot fit the old cover over, then waiting for an extra week for the new cover to be delivered, then finding you need a bug screen, seriously consider the next model up with the cover and the bug screen and the remote control fitted in the box - I thought that remote control would be a bit of a waste but now I've fitted it, got annoyed by it, struggled to reach the non-remote controls because I'm a short-arse, and reviewed the price of the next model up, that extra $75 is well worth it. Amazon took a full 7 days longer than initially promised to ship this item - I'm not surprised as they were stupidly ambitious with their get it by date through Prime, but fortunately that didn't matter, just another little peave.

So far so good. Just got it installed and seems to work perfectly. I ordered a second one for the other fan.

Does not allow remote MaxxAir vent to fully open. Mine arrived with missing hardware and grill.
