I installed this Seagate SkyHawk 6TB drive into my NVR system, and it has been performing flawlessly. With 6TB of capacity and a generous 256MB cache, it easily handles continuous, multi-camera HD streams without any stuttering or dropped frames. It runs exceptionally cool and quiet, which is exactly what you want for equipment that stays on all day and night. If you need dedicated storage designed specifically to handle intensive surveillance write workloads, this compatible drive is a fantastic value.

This worked perfectly on my CCTV NVR, plug and play, fast response, fast playback and video retrieval, definitely value for money.

As with tech I'm always worried about dead on arrival stuff coming into the front door. However, Seagate drives have never done me wrong. This drive is no exception to their excellence in making hard drives. Its got good speeds, formats fast, and is perfect dimensions for my Unifi system. Great value as always from sea gate.

Used in a video surveillance system and started having major errors after just three months. Filed for a warranty replacement and had to pay for trackable shipping to return. Got a replacement from them two weeks later. I suggest you buy Western Digital instead.

After two failed fraudulent drives from the WD Purple line ordered from Amazon I finally found one that appears to be both legit and functioning. The first WD Purple I ordered showed 0 power on hours but clearly had been used previously. It was loud, clicked a lot and failed within two weeks. The replacement drive I ordered (That appeared to come from the "Western Digital Store") showed up and wasn't recognized by my system as a WD drive but rather an HGST drive...a model that was manufactured from 2014-2015. The drive had tool marks that had been painted over with black paint and the body also matched HGST drives from that era. You could even see sticker residue where something was removed and a WD Purple label was placed on it. The serial number was fake and also didn't match what SMART reported. WD had no record of either serial. This drive formatted immediately, showed up in new manufacturer packaging and the serial number checks out on the Seagate website. I've used several purple drives in the past with good results but it seems like Amazon has an issue with the resellers on this site so I would 100% avoid buying the WD line on here for now and go with this seagate drive instead.

Using in a Unifi Dream Machine Pro, currently have 2135 power on hours and seems to work well so far. Warranty is good at 3 years.
