Finally A Collection Worthy Of Such a Great Band
This is an excellent set and one worthy of this great group – finally – it has been a long wait! The set has been remastered, and Edsel have done a good job overall. There is significant improvement in the mastering and step up in sound quality which is most noticeable on the earlier albums and gone are the well documented issues that blighted some of the earlier remasters, particularly those remastered in 1997 on the Mercury label which were very poor. The sound is fresher and more full bodied, in particular there are some bass lines I have never heard clearly before and now have far more detail. The music itself goes without saying is brilliant particularly on the classic early albums, this is 10cc after all, one of the most inventive and original groups, and yet so underrated. The improved clarity in sound showcases their music really well. The music is accompanied by essay written by Liam Newton, the 10cc biographer, which is pitched perfectly for the set, even if you have read his superb book on the band and is worth a read.A great, well packaged box set for, in my opinion, one of the greatest yet most underrated bands.

Amazing Set, Amazing Audio
Absolutely love diving into this incredible box. Covering (nearly) all 10cc output, particularly the key releases over 20 years. The most important aspect (other than having a full collection) is that the audio remasters here are quite superb throughout. The box is nice, many of the discs have original artwork (gatefold sleeves) and well presented with a great booklet - words from Liam Newton (if you purchase his biography of the band, it is a great accompaniment). I bought this on release and realised issues with final disc (14), which was quickly replaced with no fuss by Demon Music Group.Quality band with a proper quality career spanning release. Well pleased.

Faulty disc corrected
Bought in March 24. The first disc I played was the last one to see if it had the faults other reviewers have described. Happily it didn't. Demon have clearly made a corrected disc. Contact them if yours is faulty. The CDs sound great. They have done an excellent remastering job on them.

Comprehensive release
The best thing about this box set is the sound quality. 10CC are long overdue a decent re-mastering. This is definitely the ultimate quality that does this band justice. All the material sounds the best it`s ever been. The disappointment is the lack of presentation. The box set is compact with a booklet containing track listings and great information relating to the history of 10CC. The quality of the presentation is nowhere near as good as Pink Floyd, Genesis, Marillion, Rush and Thin Lizzy, which is a shame. The cost of producing this box set does not justify the retail price of £79.99. Very good overall but could have been better in terms of artwork and content.

Superb remastered collection.
Superb remastered collection. Besides the few errors pointed out in other reviews, there’s also the gatefold error in the How Dare You! album. it’s printed back to front. Nonetheless, very pleased with this box set.

Remastered?
For those who are wondering if there is any audio improvement on previous 10CC CD collections, fear not there is significant improvement, especially on the earlier albums up to Bloody Tourists. Reviews don't focus on these facts, but if you already own these albums that for me is a priority if you are going to invest Seventy five pounds in a reissue.

Track 5 Disc 14 skips
I have just received a replacement of this box set because the first one kept skipping on track 5 Disc 14, I have just tested it and it still skips in the middle of that track. Does anyone else have this issue?

They ARE remastered, and quite well, too!
Finally! What took so long!Don't "they" know that the people who are going to buy this stuff are also going to buy the farm soon?!It's listed both as 4 a CD and a 14 CD box. It's fourteen, not four. They are all (really) remastered. The originals (when transferred to cd) were not bad recordings, in general, after a fashion. The first was available remastered in 2000 on the Repertoire label. W/the bonus tracks, it was better than before, though it could be a bit bright and harsh. The 2nd LP's rerelease/remaster, in 2007, on Cherry Red, was better, but the dynamics were a bit uneven at times. Cherry Red has a pretty good track record with reviving/remastering the obscure. The remasters of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th titles made me keep the originals. They were from 1997 and on Mercury. They sound as if they were made by a high school a/v club on a day-trip to a mastering lab---all 3, on the same day, w/2 hours for lunch, and back home before sundown, in December. Gawd awful. These are knocking me out. I knew from the first 45 seconds of "The Original Soundtrack" that these could be a winner. This label, Edsel, released a 14-cd box of Todd Rundgren's entire Bearsville output sometime last year (?) that was not remastered. I had my doubts with this bcs of that, but they were for naught. They did a great job! I could barely listen to the first LP for years, but this version smooths out the "screech" on the tons of falsetto on that album. All of these new remasters tame the cymbals on the early LP's w/o relegating them to the distance. There are bass lines I never heard clearly that are now so detailed and distinct. It's great when you have low expectations and end up with a stupid-grin-surprise. By the end of the weekend, my face is gonna hurt. The packaging is a nice surprise, too! I'll save it for you to see when you get it.BTW, I already own every one of these titles on cd---in a jewel case. This gives me some unexpected, "extra" real estate on shelf #18. Except for the few that have bonus tracks, the rest of them are not worth keeping now.Bob K.
