St Simon the Apostle called Zealot or Cananites a hand painted mini icon- In my miniatures I wanted to make a light and small ORIGINAL icons that could escort their owner whenever he/she goesThe name of the Saint -- O Aghios Simon-- is written with brown egg tempera on the Top of his halo in Greek, with byzantine characters.Copper gold is covering the background -something that would gradually give the miniature its characteristic patina an antique look that will make the artefact even more beautiful. Finally the icon comes tenderly protected in its individual handmade felt bag, together with some instructions how to care for it, a little sachet of herbs from our garden in Crete -and our typical icon favors - Perfect for a personal gift.
