Clairol Professional No Peroxide BORN BLONDE Semi-Permanent TONER 6 oz (351 SILENT SNOW)

I used this product without any developer, because I could not find that product. The color lasts a long time. I am a natural blonde with graying hair. The product is not a true blonde color. I always wondered what I would look like as a brunette. Now, I know..... although it is not a dark brunette.

I've used this for years to give my platinum, or at times wheat/golden, blonde hair a cooler tone that pulls less yellow. It really works! I am fortunate that my hair does not "pull" yellow, as my hairdressers have told me, but still, this works really well to avoid any hint of brass.I leave it on for 30 minutes once every 3 weeks, and also put it on in the shower once a week for about 5 minutes. There's nothing more trashy than yellow-blonde dyed hair. This gives you a lovely, cooler tone to avoid pulling yellow. It's the little differences that matter.

I would have loved it if I could have found the crystals to use it with ANYWHERE, but alas I can not. So it's useless. You can't use this on it's own, so don't even try.

Love the color and the gentleness to the hair after a harsh lifting process.But, the only problem is bidding for the "color balance crystals" which is a must to use the toner.*Debbie

Quite possibly the BEST toner ever made, Clairol really 'blew-it" when they decided to discontinue Born Blonde Toner. Its No-Ammonia / No-Peroxide formula was a favorite of home users and salon pros alike. It was very gentle and conditioning with the best color results - NO OTHER brand has a toner like it. You could use it as often as you like and it was SUPER EASY to apply - Just apply it all over each time and Shampoo-In - No Root retouching, the color(s) were translucent and beautiful and you could use it to 'refresh' blonde tinted hair between retouches or tone highlights or faded and sun bleached hair. I think Clairol needed to educate people on all of the uses of the product then it would be in better demand.

Not what I wanted and returns would cost half the cost of the item. Completely not worth the purchase and a huge waste of time contacting customer service, that is until my review went up. Then they opted to refund in full due to my dissatisfaction of the return policy and costs. Good job CS.I may actually use this company again in the future since they made things right by refunding my purchase. I would have gladly shipped it back, but they said it wasn't needed so I will give it away as its too light for the caramel colored hair I have currently.The product itself in general is amazing (which is why I am giving this review 4 stars instead of 1-3) and I highly recommend it. I've never used the crystals people associate with this toner FYI. I got it back in 1997 the first time after going platinum blonde from a dark brown level 4 at a salon. It kept my roots in check and color refreshed for months. Loved it.
