Ive owned this board for about a year and was surprised to get my FX-8350 up to 4.5ghz stable. Anyone buying this board really should be pairing an FX cpu with it anyways. **Q: Is this compatible with SATA I hard drives** A: it is compatible, just remember to plug it in correctly though. I'm currently plugging two SATA I hard drives and a SSD **Q: can i run windows xp on this board** A: Yes Robert you can run XP 32bit or 64bit OS. The 64bit is a better choice if you are running newer programs, but if you plan to run some older programs you may have a problem with the 64bit OS. If you already have the 32bit OS I would go ahead and run that. If your using a larger hard drive you can always resize or create another partitions and add the XP 64bit OS after the 32bit. You could also just add another hard drive with XP 64bit,windows 7 or windows 8 and have a dual boot setup.
