Q: Is this the product to use in a glass/wood cabinet used to display antique hand mirrors? I'm having problems with rust and copper turning green.

for the rust it is ok. the website states that the product can be used with electronics, so it should be ok with copper. suggestions: buy some, store with polished penneys and see what happens after awhile. If you can keep the humidity in that cabinet low, you probably won't need the product

It would have to be the packaging if as shown. Zerust also produces the VC2-1 in simple poly bag packaging.

Q: how many for 50cal ammo box

One. Allow a little space for the vapor to circulate. If you are using an ammo box for ammo, don’t use this. But a dessicant. If using for metals, all good.

Q: What is the shelf life of these? Can they be stored for a year or two before use, and still be effective?

The package is sealed, so I would suppose that would keep it fresh indefinitely. Once you open it, the vapor would start releasing.
