update - problem solved
Update: manufacturer contacted Amazon and has asked them to fix the mislabeling of the entire batch. Seller issued a full refund for the product.This was labeled as an Ethernet splitter switch and the sealed plastic bag was labeled as such but when opened it was an audio/video switch box with RCA plugs and was not an Ethernet switch at all. Amazon very quickly sent a replacement from the same manufacturer and the same thing happened again. Correct label, wrong product. It seems they received an entire shipment that was mislabeled. Have asked for refund and will order from different manufacturer.

It works
Bought this for splitting one wired network connection in my living room and feed 4 devices: TV, blu-ray player, Apple TV, and soundbar. This box does the trick and switches reliably when needed. The box just has 4 rounded metal bumps at each bottom corner, so I applied rubber pads in order to prevent scratching the cabinet that it sits on.

These are neat little boxes
These boxes are great if you have 2 different internet service providers as I do. One cable goes to ur pc and one goes to each service provider router and if one goes down you just press the A or B button, depending on which one you were on and it switches over and within 30 sec to 1 min you are connected! Have had no issues with these at all until lightning strike so I got a few xtra just in case. I ended up having to replace one. Great value for the $. They are like $10 or less and can't ask for a better deal. I'll buy more if I need to.

STILL SENDING OUT THE WRONG SWITCHES
As happened with a prior reviewer, I was sent an A/V switch rather than the ethernet switch I need. It's not worth the trouble of returning it, I'll just get what I need on fleabay. I'm very disappointed that after several months this problem has not been resolved! Just don't waste your time and money on this item.

Great construction, simple and straightforward.
The solid construction and positive clicks of the button switches are a nice touch. Nothing about this product seems flimsy. I tested it and it works great. I especially enjoy that it does not require a power source.

I use this to connect all my CNC machines and I started with the 4 port unit and as time went on I bought 4 more CNC machines and had to buy one more unit knowing that the first unit work just fine I searched for one that had 8 ports and there were none so I daisy chain the two together and had no problems with it so all and all this unit works great only wish they had a 8 port unit
