Doctor Strange

I was fuming when I put this DVD into my playstation just to find that it wasnt working. I eventually put it in my laptop and so I was told that this was a region 2 DVD which meant that I had to change my laptop DVD default format to play this movie and to make matters worst, I only have 5 chances to change my laptops DVD player before it sets.Besides that, the movie is fantastic, i mean I'm not a big fan of Dr Strange simply coz I never really got into it but I am a big fan or both Marvel as well as DC comics and I will buy anything from them. First things first, the animation is good, what you would expect in todays highly techinical age, the graphics are sharp, the character design interesting and the whole movie experince from a visual point of view is great - well except for the big lizard/crocodile like creatures they are fighting. Like most superheroe stories, there is some tragedy that makes Dr Strange what he is and I like this because its almost like, Dr strange had to go from High to Low to find his real calling. Its makes the movie rather personable if I can say that and you sort of go with the character as he experiences life changing events.I also like how the other charcters were moulded around him, well the central characters anyway. One of the only problems is that you sort of know whose going to be the bad guy from the word go, I think it would have been really interesting if the bad guy ended up being not who you expected but that wasn't to be. I also like the thinking behind how the character finds his strength by realising that what he relied upon the most was not really what would eventually make him the heroe that he became. Also, i think this is quite good because you sort of see how the character makes the transition from one way of thinking to the next, he just doesnt roll over when some old man tells him he is special, he doubts everything he sees until the time was right for him to believe.I dont know what real Dr Strange fans would say about this but I liked it, if not for the great animation, then for the way the story was written. Ok the end sequence was not so great but this is one of the case where the means justifies the end, its more of how the end fight is fought out and not only how the fight went, but what lead to the outcome of the fight even if it wasn't as dramatic as you expected. I wouldnt say this is on par with lets say The Ultimate Avengers movie but it is not far from that at all but it is surely better that the invincible iron man i think. I would expect to see a follow up coz thats what the end suggest, now we know how he became what he is, what next?Just make sure that if you are going to buy this you buy the right DVD for yor region but it is worth buying although I can only watch it for a few more times.

One of the better animated Marvel films. This tells the origin of story of Dr. Stephen Strange and how he must team up with the Ancient One & Wong to stop Dormammu and Baron Mordo. The animation style is very well done and unique and very impressive during the different dimensional scenes, the creature designs are cool and Dormammu looks awesome and way better than the live action version. The voice acting is good all round and the plot is basic but works with the run time. The run time is also a bit of an issue, the movie is only 1hr 16 mins long which is means it's very rushed at times and could've been much more detailed, better paced and have more action sequences especially (even through the final one is great). Overall worth watching, however doesn't reach the heights of the majority of DC's animation in my opinion.

It's not necessarily a bad movie, but if your watching this after having had seen the Marvel Live Action Dr. Strange, then you might find as I did that this has the rare case of being the animated version that falls behind in terms of quality when compared to the live-action. Usually, the animation is always king! But I found the movie disappointing because of the expectations I had.

Another exciting story of how Strange became the Supreme that he was destined to become ( despite him being totally unaware of it at first), the plot of the story is interesting, seeing the ancient one take him on, despite Strange being sceptical and doubtful, but I found this whole movie about him and world he's to be exciting, reminds me of MCU Strange, overall a 7.1/10. Worth the watch.

Really good animation, with some good choices for the voice actors.Storyline wasn't great and left me feeling bored in places, with a pitiful ending.I think fans of Doctor Strange might think I'm being a little harsh but I wasn't ever a fan of this Marvel character anyway.For Marvel fans or new fans wanting to get into the back story of the character before the Marvel Cinematic Universe release the live action movie might be better off reading the comics rather then watching this. Think people might be turned off of the live action movie (when it's released) after watching this.

I've never read any of the Doctor Strange comics before and came to film with no preconceived ideas or expectations. It surprised and delighted me because of its humanistic qualities. For a film about magic, it delved more into redemption and personal responsibility to those around us in our lives, than the mechanics of magic and the magical realities of the 'other'. Buy it, it's a cracking film.

Got last steelbook it’s Amazing Dr Strange is Amazing can’t wait for next movie

A bit slow to start but I quite enjoyed it. Love this character.
