This haunting was witnessed by me and I vouch for the truthfulness of this book's content.
I was one of the psychic mediums called in by the Moffitt family to attempt to clear the malicious entity that had tormented Lena Moffitt for so long.Author Joie Albrecht has made a commendable effort to bring this gut-wrenching story to life and many of the incidents related were told me by Lena and Debbie themselves. It is a roller-coaster read and I can vouch for much of the content, however I can understand why some readers thought it was made up, especially when the author attempts to recreate Juanita's ritual, which of course is fictional. When fact and fiction are interspersed a logical reader has doubt about the complete story. I still possess some pictures I took of the slashed mattress after the entity's attack on the sleeping couple. Lena was a lovely Italian lady and Debbie was absolutely devoted to her mother in law. The whole family had been through absolute hell when I first met them. I remember stating that the elderly father Bill Sr. was the epicenter for the disturbance. I went to evening dinner with the family and Bill Sr. asked me to drop him at the house in my small Honda car. It was a foul and windy night but I agreed to do this. On our way back to the haunted house a wooden sign suddenly blew across the road and almost smashed into my windshield. This was a reinforcement of my belief that the elderly father was causing the trouble and was riddled with guilt and anger. I suspected that he had had a relationship with Juanita the housekeeper who had performed the original Santeria ritual calling up the entity. She was under the impression that he would divorce his wife and marry her so that she would not have to return to her native country. When her services were no longer needed she performed the ritual in an act of desperation. If you can get over the fictionalized opening and a few excesses in description, this is a very readable book about a mostly taboo subject of demonic possession. I permitted my name to be used as I knew that Debbie was totally sincere in wishing to bring this account before the public. Unbelievable as it sounds I did actually witness the carved triangles in the carpets and the entity's writing on the bathroom mirror. Belief in demons is definitely not for the twenty-first century mind because of our scientific orientation, but from my various visits and interviews with family members I can reassure the reader that most of these events really did occur. I felt particularly sorry for the poor dogs that suffered from the entity's cruelty. It left me with the strong feeling that evil is very much alive and all of us should watch our thoughts and actions so that we do not attract the wrong kind of influences. As an addition to our understanding of these things A Deadly Haunting is a valuable contribution.

Enthralling and frightening read
The book is very well written and is a real page turner. It is not a good idea to read at night especially before going to bed and putting the lights out. I found myself praying protection prayers and one night had a nightmare. The creepy aspect really gets to you especially the first night when I had just finished reading the violent demise of their first dog.I am amazed the family survived six years of this very serious infestation and oppression. Deborah especially was a very strong person who kept the family together. She didn’t seem to be frightened of the entity as she named him. Some the antics of the entity where humorous especially when it threw the eggs at one of the supposed investigators and he bolted from the house. The antics of the demon where ultimately oppressive and dehumanizing. It always amazes me how long it takes a besieged family to get proper help. There are a lot of charlatans out there but also some well meaning helpful professionals. I was surprised and disappointed that the family didn’t follow through with Ed and Louise Warren who could have helped them resolve the situation a lot sooner but that was part of the manipulation of the demon. It was heart warming when spiritual help did finally arrive for Lee the loving mother and grandmother. It was interesting that the demon fabricated a past life situation and tried to manipulate several characters in the story by marking them as players in this past life drama. It was obvious that he was using the supposed past life drama to manipulate and further his destructive chaos. The demon is a liar and non of it can be believed in a literal way. I was once convinced of the reality of reincarnation but after reading several current mystical writings connected with Catholic church I no longer believe in reincarnation. The high quality mystical writings which come from God directly refute that reincarnation is a reality. Reincarnation concentrates on the soul and ultimately denies God’s existence. We are called to a relationship with God not to state of consciousness or personal evolvement of the soul. This story gives an indication about where the information about incarnation may ultimately come from.Overall it was an interesting, horrific and revealing read.

Compelling Ride
Being a natural skeptic, I was hesitant about the subject matter in this book. But convincing myself to be open minded, I traveled along with the Moffitt's story, as relayed to author Joie Albrecht. The tale is dramatic and tense, as is the writing. You will feel a nagging sense of evil prevailing over each page. The clear visualization and emotionally packed content combines, in the end, to make one wonder: is Mr. Entity real? Did this family truly experience years of this horror? You must read it and ultimately decide the answer for yourself.

Gripping and truthful
I have heard the author tell the story live and find her to be incredibly believable. Only the true paranormal enthusiast may be able to swallow this tale, but the Warrens and Lloyd Auerbach as well as some university related folk and clergy were witness to this 5 year ordeal. I believed the whole thing hook line and sinker except for disagreeing with how the family handled it in parts. Either way it is a fascinating tale involving an entire family of four adults.

A Deadly Haunting
A well written story and well put together, not as scary as I thought it would be, but because it was written by a third party who had not actually been through some of the happenings and as the memories sometimes fade as time passes it almost becomes like a campfire story and I found it hard to believe it actually happened.Having said that I enjoyed the read.

Not Believable!!
I just finished this book. I've read many paranormal books thru the years. This is by far one of the worst in my opinion and it fell FLAT for me. I have never read any book any where like this one. This woman was supposedly allowed to communicate with this demon and to make a deal to not touch her or her family! What?? Since when does any dark force EVER reason with anyone?? Any books I have read they attack the whole family regardless, once they let you know they are there. I felt this was so far fetched I had a hard time believing it to be true! Some of it maybe but the majority was bunk!!
