Is the shipping box supposed to be flat or bulging? Mine is bulging and lots of tape to hold it closed.

Wou;d have been sent as a flat box. It has a bunch of flat parts in layers. Most likely, something shifted and caused the bulge in the box. Most likely along the way someone added additional tape to prevent box from spilling contents. If you need a perfect box, return to Amazon. I would just take a few pictures and then open the box and inspect the contents. If anything damaged, return to amazon. If nothing damaged, I would assemble the Cat Tree and let the cat enjoy.
