Will this adhere to 3d printed pla?

I use an old credit card to apply, when I have finished, it seems to stick, but flakes off easily to re-use the card

Is this suitable for working on model ships

Yes this is ideal for model ship building. I used it to fill gaps on planking hull and odd spots around the deck. Very easy to work with and can be sanded and painted when dry.

Will it dissolve if stained with a water based solution?

Interesting question.I tested a small hardened sample using Tamiya water based acrylic paint and using Humbrol Acrylic. No reaction. the product did not dissolve, nor did I see any significant surface reaction.

What is the shelf life once opened

Seems to last a long time. I opened mine over 6 months ago and it still works fine.
