Great cooker
A first class quality piece of Kit. Excellent value for the price and ticks all the boxes that were required. Easy to assemble and so simple to operate that even the budgie can do it. Not sure about me tho as I havn't tried it yet. Too many budgies in the house !.Still can't beat an eye level grill to be honest. This is the third new World Cooker we have had, every time the oven gets dirty my wife changes the cooker. Been delighted with them all tho.....and the wife....and the budgies.......

New World was pretty well the only make that still produces this feature
Disappointing: We had to replace our Cannon gas cooker, but they no longer make one with an eye-level grill. New World was pretty well the only make that still produces this feature. I'm afraid the New World cooker is nothing like as good as the Cannon had been. The grill pan sits too far from the flames of the grill, so things cook very slowly. Even when raised on a plinth, the grill is nowhere near my 'eye-level'. I am quite tall (5' 10"), so I have to stoop to watch the food cooking. The oven shelves do not run smoothly in the metal runners, which will probably not be easy to clean - I haven't tried this yet! The electric ignition is temperamental: often the gas lights and then goes out again. I feel we've spent quite a lot of money on something that is not as good as our old one.

Cooking on gas
The cooker works well & looks smart, oven is a good size, there's a useful selection of different sized burners & the eye level grill heats evenly. It has a generous storage compartment at the bottom. The lighting procedure sounded awkward but is actually easy to use. It was let down a bit by the packaging. The cooker was well protected but the loose pieces like the burner, burner caps & screws were supposed to be in a bag but had come out & were rattling around in the main packaging. The result was that one of the burner caps was scratched & I never did find the last of the screws and had to use a replacement. The manual has 6 pages of safety information but fails to mention the razor sharp edges on some of the metal work which meant that my first job on the new cooker was cleaning my blood off of it.

Ideal
This cooker is superb in so many ways. Great to have an eye level grill. Ideal for disabled people such as me as no need to bend too much.

Just what I wanted and a great price
A very nice looking cooke and just what I wanted. Only slight niggle in that when lighting the gas you have to keep the knob pressed in for 15 seconds after ignition occurs. Got caught out once when I let go too quickly after lighting the oven to cook some meat. an hour later after cooking the veg I took the meat out and it was stone cold, the gas had gone out, We had corned beef instead! Not a real problem once you know, a proper cook would have known and Jamie Oliver I'm not.
