Good selection of easy play carols
Nicely set out - with simpler versions for beginners and more advanced versions for non-beginners. I found the carols mostly easy to play. Lots of carols although there was a good chunk of carols I'd never heard of e.g. the well known.. "Whence is that goodly fragrance"...?! amongst others. However lots of the favourites, and easy to sit down and sightread. Not a bad buy.

50 Christmas carols for the harp
50 Carols sounds like a lot of Carols, but many of them are very old tunes that you may not know. That said, there are some lovely little gems in there. Sylvia has done 2 versions for each Carol, an easy beginners version and a more challenging version for intermediates, so you can take your pick. As usual, very well presented to help learners. Was a bit disappointed with 'It came upon a midnight clear' as it isn't the tune I know and love. Well you can't have everything.

Good selection of traditional and modern/known and unknown
Good selection of traditional and modern/known and unknown. The easy/hard arrangements are useful but the easy is a bit basic in that it misses a few of the finer points of the melody. Fingering is odd in some places.

Five Stars
Absolutely delighted, some lovely arrangements, will keep me happy for years

Very basic.
Disappointing. If you have a basic music knowledge and are ordering the book for the “harp style extras”, not for you. Much more effort and detail In her other books.

Very nice for beginners
I rate myself as a beginner and found this book very useful. I enjoyed PLAYING the carols, however found they are quite high to SING. Suppose that is because they are mostly written in G. That makes them easy to play though. This is the only reason why I haven't given 5 stars. Also love the ring binding.
