Healthy soft dog food, good quality .

Kibbles not a preferable food choice! But we chose these reading review. Have been buying for few years ! We give this as one meal to our 5 year old Maltipoo weight 14lb( should be 10) , and second home made. But home made is not always available. And we are trying to find a diet which which will help him lose weight!For small dog like him every one lb is whole a lot of weight . Joint issue and all.I use 1/4 cup portion size which is not a lot but our dog is not active!So I think these are good kibbles with another better fresh meal for dogs with good metabolism and active life style.For us we are going to take a break for one year and see if we can add weight control diet.

My fur baby is doing so well on this food. After all the pet food recalls, and all the talk about the additives and chemicals in pet foods I did some research and I decided it was time to change my baby from Science Diet to a better food that had less additives. I choose this brand as I looked over the reviews of others and everyone seemed happy. Well I am also happy. My baby is doing so well this food. She has a joint disease she was born with, now at 7 yrs old, you would never know she had issues. She is all over the place jumping like a puppy! The one thing that I have noticed the most is that she has pooped a lot less and that is because she is using the food instead of it going right through her and her not getting any benefit from it. With it being grain free it has helped her joints so much , I have improved her quality as well as her quantity of life by switching! She gets so much more vitamins that her body needs and keeps with this food and she loves it!!!! You can also find sold separately the raw boosts that I use as treats in different varieties. I found one that is for her joint issues. They have them for skin, joints ect. So far I am very happy with this food for my baby. I have a chi mix I did have to switch her over to the weight control as she did gain weight after the switch on the first bag. I think she likes it a bit too much :) She never ate that much of her Science Diet, so she now is on the weight control and is still doing very well and still loving her food!!!

It's great because there is no potatoes in the ingredient. My dog can't have starchy foods. She loves the taste of this dog food. That is a plus.

These are just like little stones that do not soften well with liquid. I stew chicken to add to my little dogs' kibbles and this was my first try of Instinct small breed. I have seen my little dog backing away from his food and having constipation problems since I began to introduce this kibble. Today after some time soaking the instinct small breed, I felt the Instinct to be hard like stones. My other dog that ate them vomited within 10 minutes. I had 3/4 bag left that I threw out. What a waste of money that I really can't afford. This food is definitely not good for an older Chihuahua, and I would never buy it again. I have one other bag of Instinct Be Natural which as a bit larger size kibble. This I will try with some pre-soaking but do not have a huge amount of faith in Instinct at this point. I'm sick to have spent the money on this and should have stayed with Honest Kitchen.
